I’m still trying to wrap my mind around thr fact that the person who posted this video of cops being terrible people would then advocate for leftists to befriend and become cops themselves, over advocating for institutional, systematic change.

I have not said befriend cops. I’ve said leftist need to stop alienating themselves from want positions of power and authority which include cops.
The left does not have any plan. For the last decade, the left has been actively working against itself.
We live in a world of Cambridge analytics, Peter Thiels, Heritage foundations, TPUSA and so on. I don’t think it’s crazy to think the left is pushed to becoming weaker and less effective by these groups. The signs are how militant that the left have become in giving up everything that is critical to being successful as a group. We’re all on lemme during a well advertised ‘exodus’ during a time when reddit gave mods a lot more power and removed tools to perform analysis just as we were all given AI tools that can be used to perform analysis by anyone.
Everybody is going to focus on putting their effort into a protest now. Just like before. Then go home and do nothing. I’m tired of it. In order to get actual change we need to change. To do that we need to focus on doing what works for everyone one else. Focus on getting people into positions where they have actual power and authority
