Both authoritarianism and resistance require time and preparation, so there’s no time to waste on electoral politics when it’s already known that it won’t work. Any resistance movement that tries to establish itself after the authoritarian takeover will simply be crushed; the time to stop the Nazis was before the Enabling Act, not after.
