Loads of insecure people, most of the ones I see are vanity purchases for people.

Even the majority of trades people are better off with a transit style van as its more weather and secure for tool/material storage while having a larger load area. Even landscapers do use vans in the UK, although not all annoyingly.

Sure, farmers might find a 4x4 pick up cheaper and more reliable while good off road than a defender style vehicle, but that’s about the only group who benefit from it.

Even people that work at height such as those who work on lamp posts or power lines tend to have a specialized van or lorry with a lift built in than some shitty pick up.

I saw one last week in suburban London. It is fucking massive. I’m used to bigger cars on our roads but this monster dwarfed my hatchback and the other days. It could barely fit in the lane and was left hand drive so must be imported. It’s absolutely insane for somebody to buy that and ride!

As an American, I apologize for this. However, where I live in NY a truck is basically required. My drive way is basically an ice luge, and if I don’t put my truck in 4wd low I can’t make it out to the road.

Europeans should not need these vehicles.

I’ll accept 4WD as a requirement, but why does it need to be a large truck? Wouldn’t an AWD car, like a Subaru or VW, work just as well?
