The onboarding will offer you a lot of topics to sign up to. These contain communities in them. The idea is to populate subscription feeds, however it can leave some users with a lot of undesired subscriptions if they click too many.
If you wish to roll this back. Go to Settings -> Profile and click the yellow bar. Don’t click the red bar!

Is there a RES equivalent for this? I’d like non-ending scroll and to disable user hover popup 😬
If you are using the web UI, then you can disable the user popups by popping this bit of css in the Additional CSS field of your user settings:
.user_preview { display: none; }As for infinite scroll, that isn’t a feature of the native web UI. There are some alternative UIs that support PieFed, and I don’t know all the features they have, so you might find that in those. Two that I know of:
