Hello! Last week, I made a post ranting about feeling overwhelmed by the things going on in my life. I received some very good advice, and upon reflecting, I managed to shift my perspective.

Now I feel better and am in a more positive mindset. This got me thinking about the good things going on in my life. One thing that I am proud of is the fact that I started working out one and a half months ago and watching my diet as well. During this period of time, I managed to lose 4 kg, and I feel stronger physically than I have in a long time. I started tracking my calories, eating less junk food, cutting out sweets, and no longer drinking sodas. I still have a lot of work to do, but I now feel better and more motivated to continue.

So here’s my question: what are some things going on in your life that you are proud of?

    • I just climbed my first 5.13 rock climb.
    • I actually went to bed at midnight last night instead of staying up late.
    • There are lots of pretty girls around, and they keep smiling at me.
    • I simulclimbed to the top of a new formation yesterday with a friend. We had a great time, and it was fantastic to cover so much ground without stopping, feeling undistracted and confident and in the moment.
    • I’m finally getting regular with doing PT for my ankle, working on my deep core strength, and getting back into shape with zone 2 cardio.
    • Today I weighed less than 190, getting close to my goal weight of 185.
    • I’ve been getting more consistent with doing meditative sits focused on my emotions. My negative feelings of dispair, envy, shame, and self hatred are coming up less and less. Yesterday, I noticed spontaneous instances of happiness and gratitude.
    • I’m getting better at noticing how I am feeling during the day, so I can recognize when I am feeling negative emotions and work on accepting them, rather than ignoring or suppressing them.
    • I finally got around to practicing my spanish today - hopefully the start of a new habit.
    • I just took a shower and it feels good to be clean.
    • I’m about to join some friends for dinner, and look forward to eating good food in good company.
