You cannot expect to atomize your world into billions of isolated individuals without losing something. We need community, individualism will only get you so far.
That just isn’t how the fediverse works. It exists in the moment. If you want it to persist you need to back it up or figure out a plan. Just expecting someone to put up as server for you and leave it up forever is fantasy thinking. Doing it yourself can involve teaming up with people to launch instances or pay for service. The people who don’t pay it forward and contribute are leeches, not community members.
