my view is that of the passive tank rather than the active tank. let me explain.
in sports, during the offseason a team has an opportunity to establish a team identity for the upcoming season in the hopes of either winning a championship or getting draft capital to build a future team that can win a championship. when you do the latter you have two ways of accomplishing this goal, the active tank and the passive tank. in an active tank you trade away all your good and somewhat good players to acquire draft capital. in a passive tank you identify that you already suck and you just… suck.
i think the republicans of 2001 took the approach of laxidasical foreign policy letting people who already hated america carry out their plan, giving them the pretext to pass the PATRIOT act and drum up military support to later implement the preconditions for overt fascism
Yeah conspiracy theories are really not needed to explain 911. It’s the fuck around and find out principle. If the US keep dropping bombs and killing innocents, then they can’t act all surprised when the families and friends of their victims seek retribution.
I also think Trump’s decision to strike Iran is a conscious choice to increase the level of violence and conflict around the world, to justify the increasing militarization, surveillance and fascism of many western governments. I reckon he’d like nothing better than another 911 before the next election (for obvious reasons), and he’s doing everything he can to increase the odds of something similar happening.
Plus the types of crime the republicans are involved in, human trafficking, drug trade, weapons sales, thrive in violent chaos.
