This poll makes it a statistical dead heat between Greens, Labour and Reform, despite the headline claim.

EDIT: This poll can’t tell you which of Greens or Labour is the best ‘stop Reform’ vote, but it does tell you that it’s one of those two and so you should not vote for anyone else. Flip a coin if you have to!

Like the headline, that claim is inaccurate editorialising by the author. The margin of error makes it impossible to make such a statement definitively. It’s quite possible that Labour is ‘actually’ ahead of Reform, with the Greens in 3rd. Someone reading this claim and concluding they should therefore vote Green (and not Labour, as they were previously leaning) might thereby help hand the victory to Reform.

That said, I absolutely wouldn’t blame anyone for taking this as a reason to vote Green to stop Reform. It’s just that the evidence you should vote Labour for the same reason is exactly as good.

Good explanation. Maybe people should just vote for the party they think best represents their views then? How novel.

I’m normally very opposed to tactical voting for this very reason (people should vote for who they want!) but I will make an exception to defeat fascism.
