A week ago I made a post about my excitement for switching to Linux. I was unable to do it that day, but I have finally done it today, after a couple complications (I was getting my tech friend to help me). I was scared, but I had no issue with connecting wifi or bluetooth and am having fun setting everything up! I figured out how to do some things with files quite quickly and didn’t even have to look things up. It’s so fun to figure these out! I am so incredibly happy to have switched!
Welcome!!! I’ve been using Linux for around a s cade, full time for the last two. I won’t go back to macos (I ditched windows a long time ago). Macos is also just continuously getting worse and worse.
Also, I tried a tiling window manager about a year ago, and have never looked back. Not saying you should, they’re not for everyone. They are definitely for me. For years, one of my biggest frustrations with macos was window management. I didn’t know it back then, but what I wanted was a tiling window manager.
Welcome! You will certainly not regret it. I’ve been with Linux for over 20 years and only use Windows on my company laptop. I can only say that Windows gets worse on each release.
Anyhow. Don’t be afraid of the CLI / console. Seems complicated when starting but will make the whole experience so much better over time.
Enjoy!
I agree that Windows is trash, especially using Linux. It’s just so much simpler and it works better and it’s not so bloated!
Maybe someday you will become truly free when you install some kind of BSD. 😉
