@startrek Anyone who doesn’t think “Academy” lives up to every single thing Trek means… well… it does. And it’s good.
I’m so completely over the “love” story between main guy and the plank of wood he’s failing for. Every scene with them alone is the same: high-school level dialog, and then one of them offends the other in some way, rinse, f-ing repeat. In the latest episode, I just kept jumping forward until one of them storms off and the plot can continue…
why does earth have a war college? such a thing has never existed in star trek until now. any time militarization has crept into starfleet it was always called out as not its primary purpose.
i’m sorry but if you think starfleet academy is quality televidion you have very low standards for entertainment. the diversity and inclusion is hamfisted, and truly progressive topics are barely broached at all.
@acosmichippo I’m sorry that you feel the need to put me down.
@acosmichippo For the same reasons we see today - Starfleet finds themselves at a point beyond where those with memory of history’s mistakes are heeded.
Except that isn’t living up to what star trek means. star trek is supposed to be an aspirational version of the future, not the present with phasers and transporters.
