Why i’m supposed to care less about iranian children being killed in war? Is it because their government is evil? Isn’t our government bad too?
The true role of government (i.e. power) is to perpetuate itself. Regardless of what ideology it dresses itself with, that is its goal and function. Not to serve the people it governs, not to protect them, not to further their wellbeing, health, and happiness etc. This applies to all governments/governing systems, though there is a spectrum of heavy handedness upon which they exist.
I’m not saying that’s how it should be and I’m sure there’s an exception or two out there. There are systems that are more permissive/open and subjectively more optimal to live under (I wish I lived under a better one) but the same still applies. Benefits/rights for the public typically need to be forced from the system or the benefit/right itself must somehow ultimately serve and benefit the overall system more and/or aid in its perpetuation.
So, the answer is, you’re supposed to care about whatever your heart cares about because none of the people in power give a single shit about the children or any of the people they govern. The Iranian government does not care, the US government does not care, the Israeli government does not care, none of the European governments care etc. Giving a fuck about the faceless masses is not their function. Maintaining and increasing their power, control, and wealth is.
Because America already doesnt give a fuck about dead kids. Sandy Hook proved that.
Republicans love assigning kids value when it helps strip autonomy from women though.
The US market would price them in the low thousands iirc, significantly below their disappeared white girls. Unsure about native americans. What are you going to do about it?
Glenn and Eva Dubin bought a child #glennandevadubinboughtachild #bindersfullofwomen #maralago
Is this real?
The US government doesn’t care about children anywhere. From Sandy Hook to Gaza to Tehran.
Certain members of it care too much, way too much.
Vast majority.
“The party of life”.
who said that? dont listen to racists
It’s more about what is not being said: more than 150 iranians kids recently died in a bombing and it was on the news for only two days, no minutes of silence or football teams wearing a badge for the victims, no politicians condemning what happened and sending wishes to the families involved.
Everyone in West Asia is subhuman to the Jewish and white supremacists.
Jewish supremacists are just white supremacists. They get special Hitler privileges like the Rhodesians. You seen how they treat Ethiopian Jews.
Always has been, see Orientalism by Edward Said: https://newcriterion.com/article/edward-saids-ldquoorientalismrdquo-revisited/
The whole thing is just a distraction from the epstein files. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about the innocent lives lost.

“Iran is oppressive. The media from the country bombing them told me so”
hey, I am not a liberal, if by removing my comment, you thought that, and you have sorta dampened my spirits by removing it. that’s fine. I am fully with Iran against this Imperialist war that is being waged against them. but putting the war aside looking at Iran 3 years back, would you say that the Iranian goverment is above criticism, and that their nation has no flaws in the eyes of a Marxist? that they are the sorta nation that the world of progressive leftists, and their struggle should strive towards?
I think you already have the answer, and know everyone else here agrees with you.
No, they aren’t. No, you shouldn’t care less. No, that doesn’t matter. And unfortunately yes, it is.
What you’re saying isn’t incorrect but this isn’t a question. You’re just moral soapboxing.
I think it’s a legit question, when there’s a tragedy involving kids it’s always a big deal, politicians yells about it and media coverage goes on for weeks. Personally i know there is no difference between children but i’m genuinely puzzled about what is the answer according to government and media logic.
No reasonable person would say there is a difference. Media/government will chalk these kids up to civilian casualties that happen in any war. I hate it, I hate it happened, I hate the excuse I literally just gave, I hate that we are in a war, I hate that we do shitty things overseas, I hate that we do shitty things domestically, I hate that its a discussion. I still don’t think you’re asking a genuine question.

It’s estimated that 30-40 children died on Oct 7th. Consider the reaction most (white) Americans had to that event to the 165 schoolchildren killed in Minab recently. Neither Israel nor Iran are meaningfully “closer” to Americans than the other.
Absolutely. It doesnt make it factually correct, but personally. Kid in my area is in ICU after getting attacked with a hammer. Thats so much more worrying to me than school shooters in America.
Obviously one is worse than the other, but one happened near me and one is an ocean away.
Europe is closer to Iran than America

American society in general acts like that
The government doesn’t care about children anywhere. They’re a political tool when talked about in the us, a method to get whatever legislation passed that they want that we’d otherwise oppose. “It’s for the children” is never about the children.
When we bomb children in other countries, the government just doesn’t care at all and will just make up any excuses as to why it’s acceptable.
Children don’t have money, why would the US govt care about them?
Here’s a blatant example of this
Where I am, our premiere made his election before Covid (sadly Covid happened and he got a second term because of it) all about a reorganizing the educational system. Some kind of integration of kindergarten and school system, he said (I kid you not, this is so cringe) that he got into politics for the kid. People believe him.
Now his integration plan is underway and kid are paying, service are eroding without the plus value promised. Specialist called it, people didn’t believe them
Kid are political pawn nothing more
