AFAIK, kemono is just the Japanese equivalent for “furry.” (not literally tho). It separates humans with animal ears and tails from full on anthros. Literally it means “beast” or “animal.”

So you are saying that in Japanese kemono refers to full anthros or the other way around? If full anthros, then what is their word for “just cat ears”?
Cute indeed.
Does it count as kemono? For me kemono was kinda an alias for demihuman which separates from furry.

“Kemono” is for full anthros, “kemonomimi” (“beast ears”) is the partial animal human hybrids.
Ohh, and I thought Kemono is just a short form of Kemonomimi. Thank you ^^
This means that I can now also push the furry content to !kemonomoe@ani.social too /j
