Serious question for the “voting doesn’t matter” people: if voting accomplishes nothing or next-to-nothing then why are they trying so damn hard to prevent people from doing it?
and spending BILLIONS to influence how you vote
It should be a law that any campaigner who wants to use genAI to create a video against their opponent must instead:
- Get down on their hands and knees.
- Hold a doll of their opponent.
- Try to imitate their voice while they bob the doll up and down to convey speech.
This way it accurately portrays the petulant seven-year-old they are.
Honestly, seeing the ad, I think this only works in his favor. But then again I guess I’m one of the “radicalized left” and the GOP is actually trying to scare Christian Nationals away from voting for him.
The deep fake stuff is creepy and actually should be illegal. But it’s also a two-way street. I think the DNC needs to fight fire with fire.
