I feel like I’ve read that as a description for Purgatory before. A place of nothingness, just an endless blank expanse where the souls reflect on their guilts until they fully comprehend the wrong, and move on to a better place.
We have that already, it’s called solitary confinement. It just ends up making people either break down or go mad.
But if you are forever there with no possible redemption then it’s hell.
