That is the ship Ukrainian intelligence claims to be meant to transport weapons from Syria back to Russia, which had engine problems yesterday.
UPDATE: Apparently the ship was transporting port cranes and is directly owned by the Russian military. So there are pretty much two options. One is that those cranes were meant for a new military port in Libya or that the final destination was honest and the ship was indeed going to Vladivostok. That port has some serious problems handling North Korean weapon shipments right now.
It harmed Russia so either way idc. Was a win
Not just opened by their military, but also apparently explicitly under sanctions.
or maybe it was going to latakia in order to transport out some elements of airbase?
Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.
Being on the bottom of the sea does tend to cause engine problems, yes.
The air intakes are not optimally working, right?

Built in 2009, 15 years old. So quite a modern vessel, unlike the clapped out tankers they just lost.
15 years is a terrifyingly long time to last without proper maintenance though.
Not for a large ship like this one.
I do think there’s something suspicious about this sinking.
Except its last inspection was in 2022 and included a number of deficiencies. Since then it has avoided inspections. It’s likely some type is deferred maintenance was the cause.
It’s the killer whales, they have started to attack freighters.
Covert marine mammals wouldn’t even be that far fetched compared to what has already happened in this war.
russian cargo ships having a bad month.
I’m sure it was just an act of God. No foul play here. No sir.
