they clearly weren’t banned for an intent that they only expressed in the post complaining about being banned. i hope you’re being willfully dense, because i can’t help you if you GENUINELY think this bullshit.

the solution is to block the instance, that’s the lesson here.
overzealous modding will eventually isolate instances with overzealous modding into echo chambers.
but we need these discussions so that general public is educated on these issues.

yeah it sounds like that instance is a bad fit for you. probably similar situation for most everyone incurring bans, and most likely the case for the folks who come to places like this to complain about them.
