      Maybe the ghost of Robert A. Heinlein is haunting it.

      (I will never not be angry that Musk stole the word from one of the classic sci-fi writer greats.)

        Not only did he steal it from Heinlein, the part that makes me irrationally angry is that he claimed the term came from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

          He stole it from his ex Grimes.

            Yes, grok is a verb coined by Heinlein in Stranger in a strange land, which is a great book in my opinion.
