Is there a specific reason why Spotify is not suggested as an alternative to YouTube Music and Apple Music?
To my knowledge they are a Swedish company.

That is fair, I was not aware of that
I imagine the us political environment enforces such behavior to maintain a market position in the future.
I don’t see it as a political statement but rather as a symptom of the political environment.

That may be, but shouldn’t it be up to people to decide for themselves whether they want to support Spotify or not?
And people can decide for themselves. Just as the author can decide to include/exclude things they deem appropriate.
