    I actually want an iPod again. I’m sick of people interrupting my music with calls. Time for dedicated music players, they were great.

      That’s so true. I hate that idiot that thought it was a great idea to combine a phone with an music player 😅

        But it is great for most people. Less item to charge. when they removed the headphone jack from all phones I call it enshitification since that means I have to buy a stupid bluetooth earphone.

      Even aside from that i genuinely think a music player still makes sense as a product.
      Nowadays we could trivially make it tiny and convenient, you can fit a stupendous amount of audio on even a cheap SD card, and having it as a separate device means you’re not using up the battery on your phone and you can be more flexible with connecting it to speakers and stuff.

      And of course just like the ipod you can also do video, and now that we could actually put in a decent display you could actually see the fucking content.

        The problem is that this gives it a very small market. Most people don’t download music anymore, they want streaming
