Signed yesterday! Not sure if it’s me and the rock I’m living under, but I believe it was only just yesterday I first heard of this. Hopefully, regardless whether the goal is met by the 17th, the number of votes leaves an impact!

    Also, props to France!

A friend of mine sent it to me yesterday, already signed it. Privacy wise logging in with your country eID should transfer the least amount of private data. (The manual form needs complete living address)

It literally took me only a couple of minutes to do so using eID.
So for anyone who hasn’t done so yet, please spare a moment of your time and support this if you’re able.

It’s a generic term for an online ID system, not a standard. The system differs per country, but it basically allows you to login and identify yourself with government institutions.
Apparently the EU accepts several of these systems as valid proof of identification, making it easy to submit a verified signature for petitions.

Ah. Such a system is almost nonexistent in the US, unless you count scanning existing documents or presenting a Social Security ID number.

From somebody in the absolute hell that is the US, I hope this passes, so you folks have better protections than we had (and lost)…
