Hey everyone! I have no power in here, have not checked if anyone has started one of these but I feel like being the change I want to see in the world.
So! What are you playing this week?
I just started off Claire Obscure Expedition 33, and at the same time, have been getting my girlfriend to slowly wean off of Guilty Gear Strive and try out older fighter games like Guilty Gear XX and a more recent one, BlazBlueCrossTag (both to great success)
Also still haven’t beat the first major boss of Nightreign, not looking forward to the trashtalk from friends after the nerf because they did it first
I actually try to play less, phone less and focus more on drawing, journaling and touching grass
But I finished expedition 33 recently and before that I played some crusader kings 3 lotr mod
E33 turned out to be really long game and I wanted to finish it asap to see what happens. That resulted in a few days or so of a marathon that has physically and mentally exhausted me
I could not sleep at the last day after I went through the ending at all because I was tortured by crying fits
Now I remember that hugging moment even now I get sad immediately and it all just leaks out of my eyes so yeah. I am resting

Bro. You can’t do that. No one can handle that much feels in such a short span.
OP: WITNESS ME!

Pour one out for a fallen gamer
I was even leveraging weed so that I am not stoned too much to get less immersion but just right to maximise the feelings.
I love I love I love when games hit me in the feels hard as truck. Just hit me you know… well
Great experience, I felt utterly broken. Would play again
Have you played A Plague Tale? It’s much shorter but also pretty emotional.
I have a serious deficiencies in emotional games played considering I only acquired such taste playing Honkai star rail penacony a year ago. Or rather arcane s1 tv series before.
Gladly taking the recommendation and open to any other
The most emotional game I played was To the Moon. It’s kind of like a jrpg walking simulator with some puzzles and light gameplay in it but a fantastic story.
The developer has made quite a few games in the series now but none hit quite as hard as the first in my opinion.
I highly recommend going in blind. Innocence is first, followed by Requiem. Innocence has been free on epic a few times so you might already own it.
Been playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Just completed Blind Forest and this seems like a great sequel so far. :)
In between playing Infamous: Second Son and Super Mario 64…just playing SM64 for giggles.
DOOM Dark Ages. I’m about halfway through.
Working my way through act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3. I feel like I’ve done just about everything in the Temple of Shar except the ::: spoiler spoiler fight against Balthazar. :::I tried it a couple times but got whooped a little too easily. Shadowheart is a beast though. She’s usually the last one alive when I try it. She can take out all the mobs by herself. It’s gonna take the whole squad to win the fight. I need to get my party up a level or two. Me being a defenseless bard is pretty tough. In all my attempts I’ve been sniped turn one with little recourse to get revived.
Then on top of that I’ve put time in AI Wars 2 and fighting games. AI Wars 2 is so cool. Complete information overload and a wonky UI but it’s got the addicting qualities I like in video games.
Tekken has been calling me as like a stress reliever. Then the Marvel announcement yesterday made me fire up Strive and SF6. I might put real effort into Strive this time. I’ve always wanted to but it’s never quite clicked like SF, and Tekken. And yes I installed DBFZ out of sheer joy yesterday. That rollback better be good.
Strive is so good. Any top 8 of that game is just full of people using the RC system in really clever ways.
I am still working my way through Expedition 33. I’m in Act 2 and I’d estimate about half way into that. I’m still absolutely loving it.
Bit of warframe, a lot of deeprock and some stellaris when I have that much free time.
So, I’m thinking of starting, for the third time, Witcher 3. I liked it the second time I tried it but there was something, off about the game… I think it’s time for another try at it.
I love CDPR, I have enjoyed Witcher 1,2, and Cyberpunk 2077 is my most played game of the decade at a solid 1000 hours.
I have bounced off Witcher 3 no less than three times and i still dread going back to it. The entire opening up to the griffin is such an openworld slog that by the time i get to the empire I am burnt out and don’t want to continue.
And this sucks because I’ve heard just how good the DLC is
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Really good game but some of travel is rough. Fast travel is very limited. Good combat and I like the pawn system.
Its been awhile since I’ve played, but you should get a few Portcrystals around mid-game, and combined with the eternal ferrystone will help traveling around significantly.
I’ve only found two that were movable. I don’t know if I’m somehow missing them or something? I think I’m a decent way into the game. I’m at the point where you actually go into the castle and talk to the duke or whatever.
I think there’s 5 movable stones, and only one missable. But very few stationary ones. If it’s nagging you enough, there’s some mods, one gives infinite stamina outside combat.
And remember: Wolfs hunt in packs!
Core Keeper with my gf and Children of Morta/PUBG casuals with a friend. A bit of PAYDAY 3 with a group.
Been playing a heavily-modded playthrough of Minecraft. Am enjoying building up my world to look alive.
I’m finding it hard to stick to one game in particular these past few days (weeks?).
I’ve been going back to my play through of Divinity: Original Sin 2 and I find the story is getting somewhat less interesting after reaching the second to last act/location (and fights are less challenging now, which isn’t as fun imo).
I’ve also been playing a bit of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and it’s more appealing than I anticipated - I’m just annoyed by recurring shader comp and loading stutters on PC…
I’m kind of in the mood for a shorter game, but my backlog is far too dense to pick anything easily. If you want Star Wars with actual saber combat, try the old Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy games. Neither should be too long, but I think JA is easier overall, as levels tend to be pretty straightforward and you start as padawan with a saber. Fighting against multiplayer bots in both games can be fun, too.
BLUE PRINCE! IT IS SO GOOD!
It’s a puzzle game like Myst, and a puzzle game like a board game sort of. So it has short term and long term puzzles. It’s so good! I’m obsessed.
Blue Prince was incredible. Any game where you need to keep a physical notepad next to you gets points in my book. If you’ve not played Return of the Obra Dinn I’d rec that for that same experience.
I did play Obra Dinn! I loved it.
Finished playing through Atomic Heart, and because of that wanted to play a game that was, you know, actually fun instead of a miserable slog, so I’ve been playing Crab Champions and playing the original BioShock again for the millionth time. Sometimes Sea of Thieves.
Final Fantasy VIII, almost at the end of the third disc. Hot take: this is my favorite PS1 entry in the series (and IX is my second favorite). I’m not going to pretend it’s a perfect game but it takes a lot of chances and I think most of the them pay off.
