Had a mostly successful glaze firing. Found some new glazes I’m satisfied with including a good midfire red that I’ve been questing for for a while now.
As you all know lemm.ee is shutting down. Since this community has all of like 4 posts mostly by me, I’m just going to let it close and try to move to !pottery@lemmy.world. It is even less active than here and I don’t know the state of it’s moderation but I’ll try my future posts there for a while and if it doesn’t work out maybe we can start the community again on a new instance (probably piefed.social).
Thank you! My goal this time was to try to throw consistently formed objects that could stack (i.e. plates, blates, sauce dishes). They are not perfect but I’m mostly happy with them. We needed some new dishware also.
The mushroom house (not made by me) happens to be my favorite, haha. The mushroom house and green box were made by my sister in law and I just fired them for her. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a kilnshare with my kiln. Help others in my neighborhood who want to try pottery. But I figured I should try a full firing on my own before putting the work of other people in there.
