    I’ve kept my phone for 7 years by using this one simple trick that phone manufactures hate.

    I don’t drop it.

      I dropped mine, breaking my second screen in 20 years. It was a bit pricey but I replaced the screen. Repairing sometimes makes sense too.

    I keep my phone for 3 years and then pass it on to one of my retired parents who use it another 3+ years. They only get updates to stay on the latest OS for 6 years but work fine for far more. After 3 years there’s at least some new features and noticeable speed increases. No reason whatsoever to update yearly which Apple even has a subscription plan for…
