I’m talking about the ones that may have had only one or two seasons but you know deserve better than that.
Akagi. Ended halfway through the Washizu arc because they caught up to the manga, now it’s finally done so I’d love to see them go back and complete it.
Also from the same mangaka, Kaiji. Part 3 is the best and it’s a damn shame that the anime ends right before then.
Easily one of the best responses
Kaiji part 3 is kinda impossible to do without part 4, not that I’m complaining. Both are phenomenal. Although weirdly part 5 is my favourite.
5 is great, but honestly I thought part 4 was the weakest. Not sure what you mean by part 3 being impossible without it?
Part 3 ends and immediately follows into part 4. Their basically one continuous story that has no break in the middle.
How about none?
If I wanted to see soulless retreads of older franchises whose time and relevance has passed, then I’d watch Hollywood shit.
UY 2022, Ranma 1/2 2024, I’m looking at you.
I want to watch more Elfenlied, but I doubt it’s gonna happen. Maybe I should just read the Manga.
Haruhi
Honestly, even though it’s already a masterpiece, it would not hurt my feelings to see a reboot of Chobits.
Give me two new seasons with new art, maybe explore some more of the storyline or something.
Failing a reboot where they redo it with modern art techniques and everything, maybe there could be a parallel line, or pick up where it left off and give us one additional glorious season of Chi taking her rightful place as the persocom empress of the world or something.
I’d love to see Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs ride again.
Also Samurai Pizza Cats, not sure if the magic of the dub can be recaptured though.
07 ghost. An interesting anime with a fully fleshed out Manga.
-
It has a fantastic Gregorian esc future world aesthetic with grim reapers. One main original one that serves the role of the main antagonist character. And 7 others that oppose him known as the 7 ghosts that mainly serve as side characters.
-
has a really solid soundtrack that I think fits it’s anime well
-
Has a really enjoyable side character / mentor for the MC character with a Jiriya each love for women.
-
The Guyver
What’s considered “older” anime?
I don’t think I want to see any of the answers to this question
Me neither … Wait.
Imo, pre-2012. I think you could also argue that 2018 or 2020/2021 is the start of the modem era of anime, or even 2006.
Akame ga Kill is a great manga that got an ok anime up until the end, where White Fox decided to make an original ending since they weren’t interested in doing another season.
Bubblegum Crisis
If I can choose a manga that never finished and deserves both a revival and an anime?
Zombie Powder
Ghost Stories. Specifically the dub.
It should just get remade for real, outside the USA this anime is considered very good, it was a myth to defend that dub.
Have you seen the dub? It seems to get the main points across. It’s honestly the only anime I’ve watched of my own free will. I was forced to watch bits of Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia by my little sister. Idk why anime communities show up on my social media so much. Anyways, the dub was funny.
“A dub like that?? In this day and age? What are you r*tarded??”
I second this with Shin Chan AS dub
I would normally remove comments using the r-word, but for those unaware, this is basically a paraphrased quote from the Ghost Stories dub that was mentioned. It was definitely a product of its time and would never be able to be made like that today.
It’s definitely… questionable in it’s content choices. I’m autistic and a member of the plus sign mafia. I’m not personally offended by any of the content, but there’s definitely stuff for a wide variety of groups to get mad at. It’s very 2000s. I don’t know if it caused any harm, but I don’t get the feeling that anyone meant for it to. Honestly, I unironically enjoy it. Maybe it’s better that it’s never coming back though.
Full Metal Panic. It’s one season away from being finished.
Two things pop into my mind at least.
- Tokyo ghoul. I want a FMA brotherhood reboot. They would only need to do the second season really. (I know, very original)
- Votoms. I just want this in some modern graphics. I feel like a reboot of this series could gain some popularity currently. Less “real robot” series more gritty military Real Robot
