    Absolutely outrageous! It’s obviously Fish GNU/Linux, or as I’ve taken to calling it, Fish GNU plus Linux.

      GNU plus Unix, ackshually. Linux had nothing to do with it.

      In other words: GNU’s not Unix + Unix.

      The Pufferfish is the OpenBSD logo/mascot. BSD is not Linux but it’s similar enough that the two often get mistakenly (or jokingly) lumped together.

      Not everything needs to be justified. You don’t need to know about BSD or Plan9 or other niche things in the comic. If you like it, enjoy it. Maybe it will inspire you to dig into some weird stuff like Gopher and Gemini or maybe you’ll just enjoy the stories about The Girl and her spikey master.
