Had me on the edge of my seat for those last few laps.
yeah me too it was a good one
Wow Ferrari with a fantastic 2.0s stop for Leclerc.
not according to Leclerc

Lando is a sitting duck
Unreal, what a finish.
yes drs is going to have it
Ouch imagine getting gravel thrown against your hands at this speed
They just showed the replay of it. Yikes that looked painful.
Let’s go

P5 for the goat. still got it
Lol Lando’s race engineer is more excited than Lando
Jesus Christ Leclerc what on earth was that defense
not Jesus Christ. you are supposed to say “mamma Mia”
Who is ready for some tire management
Tire choices look like many stops
starting already. Piastri asking his hard tire to go to the end like last week
Lando needs to work on his start. He’s like a football player who cannot do penalties.
Who the hell is working with loud equipment during the anthem? 😂
yeah that was odd.
I assume the ambient sound microphone was too close to a mechanic
That lock up cost piastri. Rare mistake from him. He should taken the normal line like he did on the last lap on lap 69 to try a setup a overtake on the last lap. Taking the regular racing line on the last lap, he was closer to Lando throughout the lap
At the same time, that mistake showed Piastri’s greatness in not crashing into Norris there. Could have easily gone bad for both of them.
I don’t know, maybe he should have setup for the attempt on lap 70 instead of 69, but being closer around the lap doesn’t mean much around here where turn one is the only real overtaking spot. I understand why he went for it.
If he entered the main straight around 6 tenths behind, he can gain enough through drs and slipstream to get into a proper divebomb range. On the other hand what actually happened was after the lockup he was slightly further behind and entered the main straight on lap 70 seven tenths behind and too far back to get in place for divebomb.
Edit - I also get why he did it but it was a mistake nonetheless. Shows that as good as he has been, he is not perfect. We have a cracker of a championship battle on our hands
haha what was that pitting bluff from mclaren!
why did not you Tbone him… haha good one Russell. I love the cool down room chat.

Thanks!
great move by Russel for the P3
So the one-stop pays off on a track where you struggle to overtake? Who could have guessed?
It is not that simple. Usually tyre deg is so high that a single stop race is not possible. The temps were unusually low today and that meant deg was less and a one stop turned out to be the better strategy.
In the current era cars and tires it just often works out to be the case.
Not really. In all of 2022, 2023 and 2024 the two stop was way faster than the one stop.
I have to go back and look at the statistics but we’ve had a lot of one-stoppers the last two to three years. The two-stopper is almost always faster on paper but not always the best strategy, especially with all the dirty air.
I want to say it was 2023 that the one-stop trend started?
I am talking about hungary specifically. One stop is more popular in most tracks but hungaroring always has been two stops.
Ah my bad! Yeah, over the last couple of years we have seen more and more tracks that were traditionally a two-stopper end up with the one-stop being better.
