Good news! Following up from this https://feddit.uk/post/18671151
The men’s World Conker Championships winner has been cleared of cheating after a steel chestnut was found in his pocket.
So he went with the means to cheat, but didn’t use it? That’s somehow even stranger.
I didn’t cheat, sir, honest. I merely had the answers to the test written on my arm as a joke.
How will the sport of Conker recover from this
"We are gentlemen at the World Conker Championships and we don’t cheat. I’ve been playing and practising for decades. That’s how I won.
Mr Jakins won the men’s competition but lost in the overall final to women’s champion Kelci Banschbach, originally from the United States, who only took up the game last year when she moved to Suffolk.
Hmm.
Why on earth is it segregated by gender…
I often think that about tennis as it is in the sport where physical strength is really a major factor. Humans just seem to have this need to separate men and women into separate groups at least we’re a little bit when doing sports.
Finding out about conker championships is like finding out about professional corn hole all over again.
