    They are absolutely equivalent and it’s ridiculous to argue otherwise.

      No they’re not? Wanting the next Harry Potter thing to flop and her lose a bunch of money is wishing misfortune, but it’s hardly wishing harm.

        Well it’s one thing to specify you’re wishing harm to her finances. But saying you wish someone ill without specifying absolutely implies wishing them harm.

      I wish that her sleeves always get wet when she’s washing her hands.

      I wish that she always loses when gambling on a fart.
