“Drill baby drill” vs NIMBY!

“Drill baby drill” vs NIMBY!
Well, first they write their own history books.

I overstated. He’s not “required,” but it’s pretty common for the NY mayor to meet with the president after being elected. Mainly for all the reasons already stated. They may not like one another, but in both cases the voters chose their leaders, so they have to work in the same company as one another.

He’s going to be the mayor of NYC. He has no choice but to meet with the President. Besides, he’s upholding a campaign promise to meet with anyone (see article).
After all the shit Trump said about home during the election, the shit the press secretary said about the “communist coming to the White House,” the absolute best thing Mamdani can do right now is nothing. Let these idiots fall over themselves backtracking and unsaying all the shit they’ve spewed. All he has to do is stand there with a smile and not say shit. Even if Trumps base never comes around on him, he was never going to win those people. He’s already won all he was ever going to win when Trump said positive things about him after the meeting. No need for him to say anything else. Just go back to NY, wake up tomorrow and get on with his life.

Whether it’s possible today, tomorrow, next week, or next year, “possible” means “possible.” It doesn’t mean likely or unlikely. It’s intentionally vague. Whether it “will be” or “would be” possible is equally vague. You’re splitting hairs.

Using the right font, his current number checks all the same boxes.

Look at the US Republican Party. Pretending history didn’t happen is basically the party’s platform.

I think it is redundant. The word “possible” is already vague. Adding “possibly” just adds vagueness to something that’s already vague. Another way to look at it:
“It’s possible.” == It can happen. Doesn’t necessarily mean it will, just that is could/can.
“It’s possibly possible.” == means the same thing.

Yeah, the meme assumes the US is a country of laws for those in power. Common mistake.

With AI wedging its way into everything, need to have a representative of tech billionaires working the crank. Also probably some more tech billionaires peeing in various parts of the stack.

Upvote for the Network Chuck reference.

That’s really pretty!

And that will complete the US slide into full-on fascism because, despite over 30-odd-years of evidence, US voters still think republicans are better for the economy. Once the [rec|depr]ession hits, the GOP will regain power to “fix things,” and that will be our last free and fair election.

A message he’s clearly not getting, or caring about, judging by his remarks today.

An op-ed one. To be fair, I don’t think these should be included in news communities, but here we are.
Dershowitz is such a gangsta!
If you’re referring to the probing of the gums around the teeth, that’s not what this guy did. The blood came from him catching my gums while he was scraping excess tarter off the backs of my teeth. Also never had this amount of blood on a bib after a visit before or after this guy, so I’m sticking with him sucking.

Right!? Why is this even a discussion!? We have a chance to make sure the world’s first trillionaire is an (naturalized) American! You legitimately cannot put a price on that! /s

NYC is almost a small country unto itself, in some ways. About the only thing she could have larger impact on, in a governmental position, would be at the state level… namely in NY or California (possibly Texas, but that would never happen).
. . . Not to mention the legitimacy of the organization and, to some extent, the entire government.
