Depends on the cultivar. Rice does have different flavors, and some are definitely tastier than others, at least in my opinion. Japanese sticky rice is my favorite, and although I wouldn’t eat it on its own, I can totally see why someone would enjoy it

One of my cats love fishing used tea leaves out from mugs. She doesn’t eat them, she just paws the leaves out from the cups and then leaves them on the counter. We have no idea why she does it but she absolutely insists on doing it. No other cat does this.

That’s the thing - in space, orbits don’t decay. Orbital decay only happens if there’s dust or atmosphere that you bump into along your orbit to slow you down. But in interplanetary space, there’s no dust or atmosphere, and certainly not enough to decay your orbit fast enough to achieve results (otherwise, the Earth would have already decayed and melted in the Sun)

You need to spend fuel to lower your orbit to hit the Sun, and you need to spend fuel to raise your orbit to escape the solar system. It turns out to be really freaking difficult to hit the sun because it simply requires so much fuel to lower your orbit enough to hit the Sun.

If there was something I give up on, it’s gun control. For several reasons:

1. There’s basically no gun control anyways so it’s not like we’re giving up something.
2. Compared to abortion rights (ie bodily autonomy) and climate change (ie existential crisis), not having gun control is the least bad. It’s still pretty crucial, to be fair, but comparing to actual existential crises like the other 2, not having gun control doesn’t seem that bad in comparison

Chest plates aren’t meant to be flat. They’re meant to be round. The reason is that rounded armor is structurally more stable and it’s easier to get a weapon to deflect off rounded armor than a flat armor. There should be plenty of space for breasts in regular medieval armor without needing any sort of modification.

Having the chest plate fit the breasts actually introduces a point of weakness, since glancing blows will be deflected toward the heart.

Same for me, but with Tetris. I’m not the best, but I’m confident I can handedly beat the vast majority of the population. I spent most of my lockdown days just doing Tetris.

No jumpscares, but really quite unsettling

Some astronauts are on the international space station. They were scheduled to come down to Earth some time ago, but the rocket that’s supposed to take them down has failures, and so the return trip has been postponed. NASA isn’t convinced that the rocket can be fixed in time, and they have no alternatives ready, so for now the astronauts are just stuck in space.

Obligatory note that the rocket was built by Boeing, who are already in hot water for negligently lax construction protocols on their planes. As an extra note, Boeing engineers seem to think that NASA should use the rocket anyways because it’s “unlikely” to crash and burn this time

It’s an odd form factor that people don’t really have much experience with, hence they don’t really know how useful it’ll be to them. To be fair to myself, I had been holding back on purchasing one until maybe a year after the initial launch, so I think I would personally describe my experience as a leap of faith.

In any case, it turns out to be a great little thing. There’s a lot of games in my backlog that don’t feel “desktop-y,” and therefore I’ve never played them, if that makes sense. But with a handheld form factor, now I have more motivation to go through those games. Emulation on the steam deck has also been great, for a similar reason. And sometimes I just want to be in bed than on my desktop. Or sometimes I’m just on the bus or waiting for something.

I think SteamOS also taught me how usable Linux was, and that’s been pretty instrumental in getting me to minimize my Windows dependence
