I didn’t play much of it but it ran well when I tired it. I just decided it was the type of game I wanted to plat with all the settings maxed on my laptop.
Thing with the video, I already get it from alternative means even while paying for it because Amazon doesn’t like to play in full quality on Linux.
I’m not going to renew my Amazon sub when it expires. I say it’s for moral reasons but honestly it’s cause they’ve made the search so incredibly awful.
I’ll search for things with the exact product name, still end up having to scroll down a ways to find it.
I’ll go back to buying direct from manufacturer websites.
Yeah, many plant based alternatives are cheaper than meat to produce, but it has become a thing that vegan alternatives are expensive so everyone raises the price to match.
I forgot the company but around 2015 there was one brand talking up about because of how cheap it was to make it would be a great thing to help with hunger levels in impoverished areas. Just really talking up how they were going to be cheaper than meat. Year later, priced up to match the rest of the brands.
It can be done, but it involves at minimum, monthly trips to the vet to make sure your cat is healthy, and if they’re not healthy, you don’t know until they are VERY unhealthy without the regular tests. So in general it is not a good idea. Keep a pet that naturally thrives on a vegan diet. Or wait till lab grown meat cat food is available if you really must have a tiny murder machine as a vegan.
You can feed cats a vegan diet and have them be healthy, but it is a pain in the ass to keep the cats healthy, something that most the owners do not do. They buy the food and feed their cats without doing the tests, and their cats suffer for it
You need to regularly test their urine ph levels about once every couple weeks in order to adjust their meals so they’re getting the right nutrients. I’ve seen one owner, one, where their cat is fed a vegan diet and is healthy, and it looks like a nightmare of hassle to go through because without the tests you don’t know something is wrong until it is VERY wrong. And once you get the right food figured out for your cats, you still need to take them to the vet once a month to get their urine tested because the nutrients they need can change. And yes, if you go through all of this on average your cat may be healthier than one on a typical meat diet, but you’re still dealing with monthly visits to the vet to maintain that diet.
My solution to all of this as a vegan is to not have a meat earing pet. Parrots are amazing. They’re smart, they don’t constantly think about murder, they’re social and fun and live a long time.
Or bunnies, they don’t need as much socialization as parrots do to avoid going crazy.
Dogs don’t need near as much work to live on a vegan diet cause they’re carnivores that adapted to being omnivores to be around humans over a very long period of time.
Short Circuit and Flight of the Navigator. Had them both on one tape and I’d sit down and watch it all in one sitting.
Well, he’ll have his money from Russia at least. I listened to his whole speech, the part about Ukraine is straight out of Russian state media talking points.
I’m a lesbian, Google has enough data on me to know I’m a lesbian, I live with women, don’t really hang out with men at all. I use a bunch of Google services so I know Google knows this about my living situation.
SO MANY FUCKING ADS FOR MANSCAPED, WHHHYYYYY. I am not the target market for this Google.
I’ve taken to blocking the ads, still more Manscaped. Is it cause blocking = engagement? “Oh wow, she interacted with this ad to block it but ignored the others, what a good ad placement!”
I’ll be honest, one of the parts I really like about the show Jet Lag is when they reccomend channels to watch at the end of the episode.
Carfromjapan.com has the best search features I’ve found, once you know what you’re looking for https://www.goo-net-exchange.com/ is also nice because they translate the car condition sheets.
Parts availability depends on the car. For the Rasheen for example most of the engine parts can be found at any parts store for the 1500 and 2000 cc engine versions cause those engines were also in American cars though the 2000cc engine is far more common. I’ve also found English websites that are easy to order just about any parts you want for a Rasheen including body panels.
Amazon is also nice for finding parts, I was able to find parts for a SR18DE engine on Amazon and that engine was never sold in America. So you can just buy the parts yourself then take the car to a local mechanic for the work.
Once you find something that interests you just Google that car name parts and you can usually find someone talking online about how owning that car has been for them.
The best listings also have video of the car running so you can hear if something is off with it.
Import something old and fun! Cars from smaller countries have lower mileage and can be cheap because they aren’t as valuable as a comparable car from the US. It isn’t hard to find a 25 year old car with about 50,000 miles on it.
JDM cars are especially nice now because of how weak the YEN is. Look outside the popular JDM cars and there are tons of things with easy to find parts for dirt cheap.
Or hell, get a not top trim of a popular model, and you can get something cheap. Want a station wagon built on the same platform as the Nissan Skyline? The Automatic Stageas are cheaper because tuners don’t want them because they’re an automatic and don’t have a turbo, which makes them slower, but also more reliable.
Nissan Rasheens with the 1500cc engine are easy to maintain and have an engine that was used in some American cars, get the first true AWD CUV for about $5000 plus import fees.
Another cheap option is a Toyota Caldina, get a reliable awd station wagon with a nice interior for 7 or 8 grand including import fees. (Avoid the 2000ish GTT version with a turbo, turbo manifold is prone to warping on that engine and said manifold is hard to find in the US as those engines generally didnt sell in the US)
Edit: looks like Caldinas have gone up in price recently.
Yes it would be ideal for the government to do all that, I’m just saying that increased corporate tax rates lead to increased reinvesting into the companies themselves which is generally good for workers. Part of them avoiding paying taxes would lead to working at those companies being better because pushing pure profit margins wouldn’t be as effective for gathering wealth. There are so many companies where it is downright miserable working for them due to rampant cost cutting to make record breaking profits, so tax the fuck out of those profits and stupid choices like that become less fiscally appealing.
For instance In order to boost profit margins at the end of last year 7 Eleven put a halt to all preventative maintenance. If it is no longer cost effective to do that due to high taxes on those profits that maintenance would have been done which would have seen a higher retention in maintenance staff. (As well as less money spent replacing equipment in 2024)
I’m not saying one change will fix everything, but it’s a start.
The higher the corporate tax rates the more the companies reinvest into the company to keep profit margins down which causes the economy to flourish rather than funneling as much cash as possible to shareholders.
Companies generally would rather pay their own workers more than pay more in taxes. If you’re going to lose the money anyway, might as well spend it keeping your workforce happy than give it to the government.
Hell, Hillary even kept Henry Kissinger around while campaigning Somehow thinking that was a good idea? Basically a hello America, look at this war criminal I am good friends with, let me talk at length about how amazing this war criminal is. To say she was out of touch would be a bit of an understatement.
I’ll sometimes try protein shakes when I see vegan ones I don’t recognize at the store. I’ve had a few very bad ones. Most fall into that “well, it tastes decent for a protein shake I suppose.”
I’m vegan and struggling with my weight for a while, bought a Huel subscription and it is really helping. I’ll get my measured out meal, then fill up on water and tea, but the shakes by themselves are surprisingly filling.
Portion control had been my biggest struggle. It’s easier to say no to another meal shake than getting seconds of something else, and the shakes do taste good. Well, the chocolate does, the Vanilla is… not amazing.
I’m also keeping up on it more cause I don’t want the hassle of modifying the order.
The other big thing that keeps me at it is weighing myself every day and logging it in a health app.
The only game that is a PS5 exclusive that I really want is the new Gran Turismo. But I’m not going to buy a PS5 just for one game.
Every other game I want on the PS5 is eventually going to be on PC anyway.
