    I mean China definitely does it.

    Tibeten “re-education” anyone? They stole the playbook for Tibet right from america dealing with native Americans, but with a little less outright killing. Uyghurs is less language genocide and more actual genocide and concentration/slave camps.

    America did it and does it with native americans. Americans did it with literally every single group that came into the country with their whole “English isn’t our official language but you better speak English or be ostracized” through its history.

    Literally every nation has tried at one point.

    I am pretty sure language erasure is not “a form of genocide”, but “a component of recognizing genocide” or something that states thag commit genocide commonly do. I have looked at a bunch of definitions and genocide definition seems to always involve actually killing people:

    any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

    (a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.[3]

    My point was that every nation does it simply because of nationalism and ease of administration. Governments already run bad enough without having to keep 25 running translations of every document.

    I don’t fully agree with people’s idea of what the weapons should be to make it fun. Though I completely agree that your interest in the game is probably how a ton of people are with it now.

    Helldivers is a more niche game than it was at first glance. The gameplay loop isn’t for everyone and specifically the gameplay loop is 10x better with 4 known friends in comms playing together.

    I think the nerfs to weapons (flamethrower didn’t actually get nerfed, they just make flames actually work correctly and not penetrate literally everything so you can run around being master chief 1 man god army) actually made the game more like the intention: mid completion rate, success by the skin of your teeth, extraction extremely optional because the divers are just a part of the military industrial meat grinder so the loss of life doesn’t matter. That is what makes for all of the epic moments, not 1 manning level 9 bugs with flamethrower and a jetpack with relative ease.

    The game just isn’t made to be as fun solo queueing sadly.

    is also the natural progression of a PVE game. You have huge playtimes early on and it falls off hard after the first year when people get board. PvP games always retain players much much better (excl to big to die MMOs)

    To be fair, if something is open by default or very easy to enable without informing about the risks, tons of people will have it exposed without thinking.

    It isn’t that “tons of people do it so it is normal and perfectly fine” but more “people don’t realize.” It also uses some nontrivial amount of resources to process and block those attempts, even if they never have a chance of getting in.

    There is yet a reason I can find to have it forwarded for home use. Need to ssh into a machine to fix it? VPN.

    There are plenty of secure web-based tools to manage your server without a VPN also.

    Then what about when they constantly refer to the rhetoric as “truth” how Ukraine was full of Nazis that were genociding the Russian minority and how Russia invaded to save them and has committed exactly 0 war crimes?

    I completely get that the US is not a good guy, most of western civilization was built on exploitation, imperialism, and subjugation of people. I even understand the great things China has done as far as huge quality of life upgrades for their people.

    But Russia is only similar to china in that they propagate huge anti-US propaganda and technically support each other as an anti-US coalition.

    Russia is also extremely imperialist, always has been, and literally has annexed (or tried to) multiple nations in the past decades, and is currently trying to do the same. Russia is everything that hexbear stands against, yet they unequivocally support them without any doubt.

    Go say literally any critical things of Russia in hexbear. You will 100% be down voted to oblivion, if not banned. If you say anything against Putin being the greatest leader in recent history, you will be down voted to hell if not banned. I have yet to see any critical speech of Russia on hexbear that didn’t get removed or down voted so hard that the comment will never see the light of day.

    I understand being Anti-US, but if Russia was in the US’s position, they would be just as bad if not worse for the treatment of people and propagating imperialism. Then to censor people about it… I can scream on other instances about how stupid the US is until I pass out and I wouldn’t get banned. That is TruthSocial/theDonald/Twitter territory.

    Maybe you can clear this up then:

    Why does everyone there unequivocally, wholeheartedly, unquestionably support Russia?

    Russia has barely a trace of communism anymore and it is hard right oligarchy that fits almost every definition of fascism. Not to mention HEAVILY racist and anti-LGBTQ (I have multiple friends who were from Russia and they were the ones who originally told me that before I saw it for myself in Russia)

    Yet the “antifa” hexbear will literally down vote you to hell and ban you if you say anything even slightly bad about Russia.

    Also news@hexbear is 80% articles about the war with everyone citing Russian propaganda as absolute truth and every western media, every human rights group, etc… is completely lying about the war.

    An interesting juxtaposition as they are in the same way pro Palestine and cite those human rights groups as telling the absolute truth in that case

    The steam controller is absolutely my favorite shape and feel for the controller.

    The one big flaw is the plastic bumper mechanism that has broken on 3 of my units, 1 I was able to send back, 1 replaced with PETG 3D printed part which is less clicky, but more durable, and 1 still intact.

    Still, I have exclusively used those for years when not playing on Switch

    I don’t want to get sucked into it.

    Doing a full renovation on my house means that I have maybe 5 hours per week to play games or work on small fun projects, so I would probably rather play games that are less competitive in my free time.

    It seems like a fun, but frustrating game right now. A decent mcginnis or seven can completely team wipe with their crazy ults. There seems to be a big lack of ability healing or AOE defense buffs to compensate.

    But I have only played a dozen games or so.
