Seriously? I hadn’t seen anything newer than 2014 or so! Is it exclusively BBC? Cause usually I saw it on random public access and Amazon.

Time team?!? Or top gear? Cause I’ve seen the new top gear and it’s… Meh.

“these damn kids and their broccoli hair are using jacks to move the tracks!”

If you think they should know, then you shouldn’t do it. It sounds like you’re doing it to punish them, and telling them is only to hurt them. If you feel like you need to tell them, then you should reconsider doing it and just go no contact. But it sounds like your goal is just to hurt them. Which, fair, but words can do the same job as good or better than life changing actions that can’t be taken back.

Time team. That shit was amazing. It went on for like 20+ years and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. it was fascinating. The closest thing we have now is josh gates’ expedition unknown, which is really hit and miss. Recently it’s been so picky about things they’re likely to hit on that some seasons only have 4-6 episodes. He tries to make the finds to be to big. Time team found all kinds of fantastic things because they were just looking for historical significance, not mountains of treasure. But they always found treasures of some kind. That was a really great, fascinating show.
I’m also a really big fan of top gear.
Fair, and good for Belgium. Didn’t Italy or Spain threaten this a while back? And walked it back like a week later?

Ohhhh ok, I was picturing a much larger sign, like visible enough that you didn’t have to know it was there, and didn’t have to inspect it up close… Ya know, like in case of emergency?
I mean that’s good, but for this to be effective, it needs to be a lot more than just Belgium. All it means is a slightly longer trip to go around Belgium.

I’ve never seen a sign that’s had that at railroad crossings…

I mean, you’re not ENTIRELY wrong, but neither are they. The national guard has a long history of helping after disasters. I knew a ton of NG medics that were doing it for experience/college money to be EMTs, nurses, doctors, many of them already were. I absolutely can NOT say the same about MPs I’ve met. They’re just cops that were fit enough and smart enough to make it in, not having to settle for being civilian police.
Also, remember that for a lot of people, the military is their way out of the poverty. Many are just desperate to not go into homelessness or criminal enterprises. I’ve known a lot of people in those positions as well. It’s not like everybody raises their right arm just to kill poor people in other countries. Hell, while I was there, suicide bombers usually weren’t doing it for their ideology. Most were threatened by the actual terrorist groups. “Either you do this or well kill your whole family” kinda thing. And it wouldn’t be a nice poisoning, either. The whole community would be witness to the cruelty that would be unleashed if you told them “no”.
So sure, bash the military as a whole all you want. Even many positions within it. But for the individual, it’s likely significantly more nuanced than you’re acting. But yes… There are also a LOT of hate-filled shitbags in the ranks who did sign up to do exactly that, just not all of them.

I’m aware, I went to Iraq with a lot of em. But outside the initial invasions, there weren’t really any “front lines”. Even after the wars, national guardsmen were told they were here more for natural disasters, and if they were to be deployed it would be in defense, taking over for deployed regular army at their bases, while they were deployed to war zones.
I’m just saying of all the military, the national guard is the most likely to have good intentions. Even if they are naive and delusional at this point.

I love the detail and the feel of the show but I fear that were already getting into Nolans known problems. Season 2 has so many open threads that none of the stories are getting their proper time. When maximus is a main character, yet he’s had how much screen time? It’s down to like 15 minutes every other episode. He desperately needs to tie some threads together and finish them off or it’s going to get so big that it’ll take 10 years to finish the stories because each one is getting about 20 minutes per season.
How many stories are currently going on? Lucy, the ghoul, maximus and Thadeus, norm and vault 31, the legion, Hank, 32/33, Robert House, and now enclave, and super mutants. That’s 10 right there and that’s only assuming that the NCR and BoS are either dead or meaningless now, which is highly unlikely. So there’s likely 12 open threads, and arguably more if you include chet and Steph being seperate from vault 32. And sure some overlap for a while but eventually they separate again. This is the same problem Westworld had, it just got too convoluted and fizzled out. I hope that doesn’t happen with fallout but every episode this season makes me think it’s more and more likely. They need to kill off a bunch of characters within the next 2 episodes to bring the story back to being manageable. And yes, they have to be killed off, they can’t just team up and combine threads. It would be hokey and not very fallout to just tie the threads together like some kind of avengers team up to bring it back down to 3-4 stories.
I also have a problem with that. Sure in the games you’ll have a bunch of open quests, but how many are you going to do at once? 2 or 3 in the same area maybe? And Hank has felt like a longer quest line than almost any main quest in any of the games.

In the national guard? Their recruiting ads are more like swinging under a helicopter saving someone from a river. Or digging through rubble after a tornado. They’re not exactly the same kind of people. Think of the headspace being more like that of a volunteer firefighter. Yeah, they were dumb to think that’d be reality after the last 25 years, but that’s where their head likely was.

I thought we were doing a new one every month?
No complaints, just wish there were more users here but there’s not much you can do about that.

Don’t act like this is the standard of the future and I’m just some grumpy old man or something, while also complaining about the failures of it. You’re just snuggling up under the blanket of late stage capitalism.
Yeah, but guess what? They found a wall! It always felt so much better than like supernatural shows where they’re like “we totally found evidence” yeah, sure ya did. “No, we did, see this spec of dust? That’s a ghost”. Alright, but did ya find a floor or nails? Show me the gpr.
