Why isn’t this in shitpost community?
Why isn’t this in shitpost community?
It ain’t WWIII, authoritarian regimes have a limited shelf life and Iran and Russia are past their expiration dates.
The markets are disconnected from reality. There’s a crazy amount of wealth at the top and they gotta put it somewhere. So it’s basically just a gambling site were rich people bet on what’ll happen next in a soap opera. Some of the rich people get to see the script before everyone else does. It’s now relatively stable because they’ve convinced themselves that TACO futures are safe.
The economic conditions are basically the same as in the late 1920s and Trump’s tariff policies are the same thing they were doing back then. But don’t worry about what happened 1929… TACO TACO TACO BUY BUY BUY!
So leftism is about wanting more comfortable public benches for the homeless to sleep on, while liberalism is about not wanting people to be homeless at all?
Do you ever get tired of needing to be outraged by everything all of the time and just want to be in a society where people actually work to improve things rather than just expressing impotent outrage? Ah but that would require doing work and leftists don’t want to do any work or they might be screamed at by other leftists for being “liberal.”
The article mentions “tens of thousands” of births but doesn’t state the numbers of people that were at this particular site. The infant death rate ranged from over 60/1000 down to 20/1000 for developed countries and higher for worldwide estimates.
Lacking numbers for the number of births there’s no way to compare to the averages, but yeah 20 deaths per year could very well be a normal rate. We tend not to think a lot about infant death rates because it’s not a fun subject, but it’s it’s a historical fact.
I get that people are addicted to being outraged, but a higher infant death rate over 60 years ago compared to today’s rate may not be something to get super emotional about until there’s specific allegations of foul play or at least some data to indicate there was something out of norm besides improper disposal of the deceased.
There were death certificates so the government at the time was aware of the number of deaths, and they didn’t seem to think it was out of the norm. Though it’s possible they just didn’t care. But in that case the government would be complicit in this so there should be hard questions asked about the government, not just the church. But that doesn’t seem to be happening, so it seems the controversy is just about corpse disposal 60 to 100 years ago.
slippery slope fallacy
Did you just randomly select some fallacy from a list in an attempt to sound clever?
Lockheed Martin did October 7?
Basically 9/11 truther style conspiracy nonsense going on here.
Gotta keep the Middle East under control so gas prices don’t get too high. Americans vote for low gas prices and then pretend to be upset about what needs to be done to keep them low. But y’all will keep voting for low gas prices, so it’s all hypocrisy.
Yeah and the little green men that showed up in Crimea in 2014 definitely had nothing to do with Russia! That’s what Russia said and we all believed them, right?
Are you pretending Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis are not Iranian proxies or are you actually that uninformed about these things? Iran regularly calls them their “Axis of Resistance” if you didn’t know. Iran’s proxies have been definitely attacking Israel for a long time.
How long can Iran have to send endless waves of Arabs to die as canon fodder before someone puts a stop to it? All of the Arab countries are too authoritarian and corrupt to do anything about Iran, so here we are.
Yeah it’s a clickbait site for people who think they’re too smart to fall for clickbait.
Is there an actual article about this or only a summary? Like what’s considered a verbal attack? A breakdown between physical attacks seems like important information. Did they only start gathering this information in 2023 or is there more historical data to compare it to for context?
Priests molested altar boys. That’s some real fucking trauma that left lifetimes of emotional scars on people that still alive now.
But sure something that happened to some dead bodies over 60 years ago is something you want to devote your two minutes of atheist hate towards today. You’re well adjusted and have everything in the proper perspective, LOL.
You don’t understand geopolitics in general if you’re seeing everything from the ultra-atheist anti-religion perspective.
Interests are more significant than religious bullshit. In a theocracy religion is a tool the government uses to propagandize the public. Clearly Iran sees Israel and the US as enemy and they’ll use anyone will to weaken their enemies. Yup, they will even direct propaganda at you regardless of your beliefs if it serves their interests.
We can do a venn diagram of people that think Jews are committing genocide and against which group. White supremacists believe Jews are doing a genocide against white people, The tiktok crowd thinks Jews are doing a genocide against muslims.
Both of these groups hate one another despite the fact they’re saying basically the same things. Hopefully it stays that way, some really bad things happen when the Nationalists and Socialists realize they have common ground in their hatred of Jews.
They actually are.
Non-violent resistances have historically had double the effectiveness of violent resistance movements. Violent resistances generally just get a bunch of people killed and only makes things worse.
The reason is simple. It’s a numbers game. Only a few psychopaths want violence and those few are easily dealt with by police. Sometimes they can especially troublesome and need to be dealt with by the military (LA isn’t one of those cases, Trump is just an idiot). It’s only the very rare case that a violent resistance topples a government and in those cases it’s just replacing one group of authoritarian psychos replacing another group. The French revolution ended up with a King being replaced by an Emperor after a whole lot of people died.
Meanwhile a non-violent movement can attract more numbers. You only need single digit percentages of the population to participate in things like general strikes to make an authoritarian regime collapse. But you aren’t getting those numbers with a violent resistance, people have families to think about and violent resistances are easily vilified. An authoritarian regime can exercise violence against a violent resistance and kill it. If an authoritarian regime uses violence against a non-violent resistance it’s clear to everyone who the villains are and an every broader number of people will participate and subtle and secretive ways.
History bears this out, a violent resistances don’t work unless there’s foreign backing and even then it’s unlikely to succeed. Non-violent resistances have double the probability of success. Non-violent resistances are just about psychopaths that want to burn things down coming up with bullshit rationalizations for it.
These aren’t solvable problems, they will always exist. But while they can’t be solved they can be mitigated. Saying murders happen therefore the concept of having police is wrong is ignoring the fact that there can be more or less murders. Less murders is good even if not perfect.
A friendly reminder, being reductive only makes you sound clever to the ignorant.
If you’re not religious why are you upset that some people didn’t get a proper burial?
There were death certificates so it’s unlikely there’s foul play, unless there’s some details this poorly written article is missing. It’s just they didn’t observe proper religious ceremony on the disposal of the deceased.
So your argument is that religious people are bad because some religious people don’t always follow religious ceremonies? Like if you don’t think religion is good, why would you be upset over improper disposal of the deceased?
I’m guessing that God probably knows the infant mortality rates throughout history.
Nah just the crowd that doesn’t read the news from the “lamestream media” and prefer getting the news from >30 second shock clips with zero context.

I think that proves my point about people not reading anything and just reacting to things without considering context at all.
