Depends on how you define disability, and how “severe” case if autism someone has. If someone is incapable of taking care of themselves, that’s definitely a disability by most metrics. Having trouble and needing some support to manage everyday life? Can be counted as disability, in some instances not. Having trouble, but not needing that much support? I’ve seen this both counted and not counted as disability

  • I think it’s very human to react with “oh now you care”, but being realistic - what’s the alternative for accepting their change of mind? These people won’t just stop existing and there’s already so many of them. Getting as many as possible to change is so much better than becoming like them and wanting to erase everyone in the wrong or some crazy shit.

No matter how hard it is, we kinda have to welcome them, because only that way anyone that might still be persuaded can see it is in fact possible to change their mind, that they won’t just be fully abandoned from society when their “own” turn on them. It is hard enough to admit you were wrong, but us being smug about it doesn’t exactly lower the bar. Of course it’s fucking difficult considering all the shit assholes of these types say and do, but again… what else can we do if we genuinely want to better the world?

Honestly it’s not like I gorge myself on steaks either, I’m usually eating fish and poultry because those digest better. I’d gladly be vegetarian even, but vegetables and beans sadly digest even worse than red meat does, so that’s off the table. Health issues around food is just generally a subject that’s often forgotten, and that doesn’t benefit a lot of people

  • I need all meat to be over-cooked if I want to eat it, because I have intestinal issues and if it’s too raw I can’t digest it as well. Also causes terrible pain and all that. I don’t have enough piping left to suffer from diarrhea the same way anymore, but getting dehydrated and having to empty the stoma bag three times in an hour isn’t much fun either. It also might be a texture issue; raw meat is more slimy and that can be a big no to some people… etc.

The point being, even if you don’t respect personal tastes, there’s always people that will need the meat to be well-done to be able to actually eat it. And most people probably don’t want to openly admit it if they get violent diarrhea from it being slightly raw

  • Also the culture that causes toxic masculinity in first place needs to change, any amount of therapy alone won’t fix the situation. Treating it only as a personal problem is like treating symptoms of a plague but leaving it rampant. But how to nuke the idiocy on a cultural level…? Things seem to have even taken a turn for the worse lately…
