I totally prefer a new health bar. The “oh fuck” is more prominent like that. I mean on the second, third, twentieth time it doesn’t matter, but I like the surprise the first time around.
Yes, please.

Jizziz I hope the Parliament won’t play along.

Also the game is basically a completely different game with some superficial similarities. At least that is my excuse for dying all the time :p

Like my man brillotti I am diving into Dark Souls 2! Got myself a pimp ass broken sword and some sort of emerald maiden by my side!

Well my Zweihander because it boinks alot!
There is aloooot of QOL in LoP, that I missed in Dark Souls, but overall I can’t say which one is best. It’s like comparing apples and oranges if though they are the same genre.
And I had a hard time to adjust actually. Often I wanted to quicky get back to where I died, which of course isn’t possible because you still have to be slow and methodical going back to the spot.
Overall a great experience!

No, I did not. What did I miss ?

Looking forward to it ! After DS3 I am going Bloodbourne or Sekiro. So in a few months I will see what the fuss is about :p

Yeah okay, didn’t even try to parry him. I just blocked my way through him in the end. Which was way easier than trying to dodge him.

I am also looking forward to it. I am aware of it’s reputation, so I am curious to see how it actually holds up. Worst case scenario is I hit a wall so thick I have to look up a guide, but as a starting point I want to go into it blind.

It is really is. I also felt really lost arriving at Firelink with the only instructions being go up or down…

Gwyn ? He didn’t seem so defenseless with his fire and his sword and whatnot. But I am not sure I did anyone a favor by killing him and his cronies.

Yeah didn’t find any of them.

Thanks for the advice, but I am pretty determined to play them in order. Then DS3 can be my sweet reward afterwards.

No, I don’t think I found any of them.

Thank you and yes I actually think I will, but I am not sure it will be a ng+1.

Haha, sorry. I was waiting for replies and fell asleep :P

I am actually waiting with that one. I am afraid of the speed, so I am going to play DS2 now.

Lies of P :)

Thank you! And yes I did! It didn’t end well :P but after getting a bit bored with the Undead Berg I went back and it went a little better. I found my pimp ass Zweihander and went to the Catacombs - then I promptly went back to the Undead Berg :P
I entered Blighttown through the Depths and I absolutely hated it. I got lost and poisoned and knocked off, but when I realized the path is more or less marked out for you by the tourches it became alot easier.
And yes I will, already installed DS2 and can’t wait for when my daughters are put to bed tonight.
Yeah I’m deep in it right now. Played Lies of P as my first soulslike, then Dark Souls - dipped my toes in DS2, but saved that sweet mess for later - and now I’m playing DS3.
I have absolutely no interest in other games with the overall action rpg formula. And I am not sure I want to combat it. I don’t feel like playing other games, so I won’t.
But this only apply to action rpgs. I still play a lot of retro platformers and rally games. Games like Zelda I also don’t count as an action rpg so I don’t compare it to Souls games. I also still have Spider-Man 2 on my backlog and looking forward to is. Again because I don’t really see a comparison between the gameplay/mechanics/genre Spider-Man and Souls.
I played both Horizon games, but have no interest in the next one. The same with God of War and Devil May Cry. As soon as we get into the very combat focused action rpg territory I have lost all interest.
And while those games still have merit and people who are into those kinda games should totally enjoy them. I’m not one of those souls fans that will knock on people for not liking what I like. But I just can’t see passed how great this genre can be.
