@naonintendois @craigcorbin catching up? From what I heard, Linux surpassed winlol in gaming for certain titles, but yes, if you take the average, there’s still a gap, and it’s becoming smaller and smaller
Windows user since 1994 (2 YO)
Linux user since 2008
recently “betrayed” by m$
2020 or 2021 switched to Linux but dual booted with winlol for compatibility
gamer, but not competitive
on 2021 succeeded to run everything on Linux
deleted winlol and use only Linux since

@lazynooblet @the16bitgamer me too for a google email (@esprit.tn), I used it on YT mainly, I used it on other things but YT is the main user, & I subscribed with it for some youtubers, after some time, the uni deleted the mailbox so they also deleted the YT account, meaning those youtubers lost a subscriber, meaning they receive less money, and that falls to the uni, the uni is to blame not me 🤣
@hanke @DV8 Valve is highly unlikely to put a kernel-level anticheat that bans Linux users but as a piece of advice, don’t run competitive multiplayer games on Linux, I mean do not get accustomed to, that also should apply to me since I play Palworld which is MP only, even on SP, you can have someone join at any time
@jeremyparker at least, I am very well developed into Linux gaming, I am not a competitive gamer, so I am in more than a good place, luckily I am already not a fan of the incompatible games like Space Marines 2
But I can only contribute by using, testing & posting on forums, I can’t code well even if my life depended on it
@jeremyparker @lemmee_in BTW I made the first blow, I was a m$ fanboy from 1994 to 2019, then they made winlol 11 & I realized that lying was in their blood, so I have been using Linux since 2019 coupled with winlol, in 2022 I used only Linux-machine but yesterday I had to have winlol also, damn Gigabyte with their winlol-only support
@jeremyparker @lemmee_in “Open-source legacy”? 🤔
@boredsquirrel over LAN*
It already exists & has many apps for winlol like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ro.andreimircius.remotefingerauth and already had an app for Linux but it died, got removed from the play store
I will try KDE Connect as soon as my WiFi gets fixed
@boredsquirrel can you use the phone’s fingerprint sensor?
I think that there’s an app for that but Open-source means choice
@bleistift2 @addie Wayland will be the only display server, it’s impossible to deny it, for example KDE defaults to Wayland & Gnome is 100% detached from X11, the deletion of X11 is coming in the future
plus, X11 is full of spaghetti code and no one, and I mean no one, supports it anymore, Wayland came to correct that, plus if you have a laptop with a hybrid GPU, you must switch manually between for example Nvidia & Intel, on Wayland everything is done automatically, etc
