I hope you did them a proper Brit and yelled “you cannot park there mate” 😉

I disagree with the “eventually” part. I disable it first thing.
I lived through the late 80s and 90s in eastern europe… there were some optimistic historical moments there, i’d say a good 10-15 years. then it went (back to) to shit.

“Tech journalists” installing linux in 2025 like it’s this hot new tech is not exactly the early adoptership I’d expect from them :)
i partially agree, but: buying a fridge without a screen is fairly trivial still (luckily). buying a tv that is not “smart” is fucking difficult, and (at least last time I had to do it a couple of years ago) you are basically left with subpar screen technology because the fancy screens go into the crappy smart tv line. the solution is defining for yourself, and accepting the “good enough” level… basically stop caring. life is not about your devices. (unless it’s your homelab.)

And i won’t mention Shattered PD because everyone else did…
Dutchie here, nope. We are paying both principal and interest. Plus when i to it out, my mortgage was 102% of my home’s value. And as it stands, the bank owns my ass exactly until I retire 🤷♂️

That must be one sturdy boat.
Not exactly this MO, but Sim9nton therapy, a visualisation technique/therapy for cancer patients has a death visualisation that kinda does this. And yeah, at the end it’s family and loved ones.
Reading through the comments, thisnwill get very confusing with the naming…
I’m upvoting, but in the end, it’s cocroach.
funny thing is, this was true 40 years ago, and it’s true today.

Just exploitative market grab for early dominance. (Or: “Grift” lol.) They will make it back when all of us have no choice but use chatgpt for everything.
I want to convert a pdf into kilometres thanks
