I have one side marked for PLA and the other for PETG (Since I’ve found the PETG residue tends to cause PLA not to stick). One of the biggest problems is that shitty standards use the money they get from licensing the standard to push the standard. Good open standards often don’t have a marketing budget to play with. One of the fun things that self hosted LLMs let you do (the big tech ones might too), is that you can edit its answer. Then, ask it to justify that answer. It will try its best, because, as you said, it its entire state of mind is on the page.

The problem (or safety) of LLMs is that they don’t learn from that mistake. The first time someone says “What’s this Windows folder doing taking up all this space?” and acts on it, they wont make that mistake again. LLM? It’ll keep making the same mistake over and over again.

On the plus side, all these tools for running x86/64 code on ARM likely helps a lot with running that same code on RISC.

I’d love it if we got to the point where Linux just brought the translation layers with it and automatically ran code compiled for any processor on any other processor. It’s not efficient, but it would be very useful.

Thanks for the tip of checking about:config. You can specify an external server, it is also in the about:config. browser.ml.chat.provider. I’m not sure it’s a feature I will ever use, but I tested it with my local Open WebUI and it seemed to work.

How nice of them to have easy options for paid third party services, and hide the local options under about:config where I’d have no idea it even exists without a kind stranger letting me know.

They’ve also put it into the right click menu. And I think they integrated into the “click and hold link preview” feature they just added. And, annoyingly, with all this added AI, they made no provisions for locally hosted AI.

They also added AI translation in addition to their old translation system for webpages. I think the old one just used Google Translate, so the AI translation is a privacy win because it is done locally, but I may be wrong on how it used to work.

I fall in to the +, but not gay. I spent my teen years with people assuming I was gay because I didn’t project masculinity, nor fawn over/chase women. It was frustrating to be misidentified. I’m sure people who don’t fit into LGBT+ are similarly annoyed at being misidentified.

There was a Party City that closed around here, and they left the window display, a Halloween store moved in for October. Another worth while consideration is heat generation. That takes more power to offset that too. During the winter maybe it wont be so bad, but it can be brutal in the summer.

I’ve always felt like the whole age verification thing was simply a failure of the OS. Yes, kids could potentially setup their own device, but most likely it is being setup by a parent. The parent should be able to create a the admin account, then an account for the child flag as a child account. The browser and any apps could then read that flag and act appropriately.

It seems like a simple solution that would be rather easy to implement for any multi-user OS. For single user OSs like Android and iOS, they have user accounts to fall back on that can work exactly the same.

This puts the control in the parents hands, and responsibility too.

Wasabi is a very affordable destination for backups. And it has the advantage of not being one of the big three.

I’m glad they are offering a bigger option. The CORE One is the same build plate size as the MK3&4. It’s got some extra z height, but that’s it. I’m enjoying my CORE One, but the limitation on bed size is a little frustrating, especially now that some of their biggest competitors are offering much larger build plates at similar prices.
