I thought this was a tough one.
I thought today’s puzzle (1463) was difficult, too: not a lot of hints.

I see this as mostly unenforceable. Conservative pundits are invited to mainstream shows all the time and simply refuse to leave their bubble. Similarly, conservative talk shows do not invite dissenting opinions to their shows, it’s just not how the broadcasters have designed their “infotainment” networks. They aren’t trying to actually debate, they are trying to sell certain viewpoints and hot takes that keep people watching.
Conservative pundits would be eviscerated on regular programming; it’s why they don’t do those shows.

Was it Terry Ferrel that was in the pilot episode of US Red Dwarf? It never went anywhere, but I think it was her.

It took me a minute to figure it out but I think it’s a good puzzle to do with your coffee. You’ll ace it tomorrow.

Those of us possibly even older may point to the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in '87. From Wikipedia, the fairness doctrine “required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that fairly reflected differing viewpoints.” In short, it’s repeal paved the way for Fox News and led all the way to CBS under Weiss.
But to your point, there are 3 things on my platform that I tell anyone who wants to hear it. 3 actionable items:
I didn’t say it would be easy.
I agree, which is why I don’t see why people are saying the answer is 16. You add in the parentheses, you multiply, then you divide. The answer is 1.
This left-to-right business linked below is complete nonsense when it comes to equations. That’s how westerners read books, but not how math is communicated. Am I that old? Like Mr. Incredible said, did they change math!?!
What do we say to the god of death? Not today,
Luckovich is a badass.
“I didn’t say she was crazy, I said she was fucking Goofy!”

So, she shares a name with The Walrus of Love himself, Barry White. Cool. There’s a joke in there somewhere…
I know, there were some red herrings today that forced you to guess.
In Star Trek, their run-of-the-mill, rarely discussed deflector is doing way more work than anything in the Star Wars universe. The one exception is the world-ender planet lasers which have been a big plot point in too many films and STILL have no plausible means to exist IN THEIR OwN UNIVERSE!
Good work!
