The software must support it. If OpenWRT isn’t an option then maybe another software is such as DD-WRT or FreshTomato or sometimes the OEM software does too. You could also put a dedicated firewall device before your router with OPNsense and put a VPN on that

Once you put a VPN on your router, be sure to have a few servers setup so if one isn’t behaving right you can log into your router and quickly switch servers.

It’s not always a tradeoff in the simplest way. I wish I could use my Privacy.com cards for privacy and security via NFC but that requires the Google wallet which I refuse to use. So for in person transactions I loose those two benefits if I don’t have enough cash or the business doesn’t accept cash.

I was wondering what they meant when talking about the WiFi chip. Is it replaceable but just annoying to get to or is it soldered to the board? I thought typically WiFi chips tended to be one of the few replaceable parts.

This sounds similar to what happens to my RPi LibreElec setup from time to time. It seems to be a slow connection or the RPi booted faster than it could fetch the info. Typically restarting the device will fix it, waiting for some time and switching between menus, or watching content and then going back to the menu will have given it time to catch up.

Maybe if your icons are being displayed from Trakt or Umbrella/Seren/etc. maybe try logging back in or updating the addon
