Funny how he says he never ‘physically’ hurt anyone, instead of he ‘never hurt anyone, period’. Because he knows if he said he never hurt anyone, he’d get called out for all the crap and shady dealings he’s done, and all the people whose lives he’s ruined.

He deserves all the hate he gets.

And that hilarious line “…I’ve never physically hurt anyone”. Interesting how he has to qualify that by saying he never ‘physically’ hurt anyone. Like he knows if he said he never hurt anyone, he’d get called out right away. What a joke. Yeah, he’s financially ruined people, cost people their jobs, selling defective vehicles, overpromising and underdelivering, stolen from people (see how he took control of Tesla. People say he founded Tesla, but he didn’t. he was an early investor, and used strong-arm tactics to oust it actual founders), but he’s never actually physically put his hands on anyone, so he’s a good person… right.

Hilarious. The US reaching out to the people they’ve insulted, threatened or victimized in some way, shape or form and asking them for help. And when they get refused, they’ll tell the American people that everyone is being so mean to them.

Absolutely. I honestly think one of their reasons for talking about annexation, and why our country, isn’t ‘viable’, is because they know our country is better than theirs. But rather than try to course correct aspects of their own nation that they know are messed up, they’d rather tear down ours. It’s pride and their inferiority complex.

They keep going on about how they’re the ‘greatest country in the world’, but they have things happen in their country that don’t happen in Canada, like mass shootings, school shootings, class inequality, poor or non-existent social safety nets, and a culture of needing someone to hate, or ‘other’. The US says that those bad things that happen in their country are unfortunate, but unavoidable in the ‘freest country in the world’, yet, right next to them, on their northern border, is our country. Canada. A country that ranks higher than theirs on the Cato Human Freedom Index.

A country that doesn’t have school and mass shootings anywhere near the scale they do. Do we have inequality? Yes, but not to the same extent they do. We have more social programs that, while not perfect, do work to try and protect the more vulnerable. And our health care is seen as a right, rather than a for profit business model.

Our very presence next to them is a contradiction to their argument that

1. they’re they best in the world, (they’re not) and

2. that whatever horrible things that do go on in their country, would happen in any other western nation. (they don’t).

They have to try and undercut and undermine us. It’s the only way they can convince their own people that they’re still the best; by kicking down and trying to tear down any country that isn’t as messed up as theirs.

A lot of people in the US will say they don’t support it, and will speak out against it, but when the forces deploy, the American people won’t do anything to stop it. They won’t stage walkouts, or take actions that will cripple their economy at home in protest, because it will cause them inconvenience and pain.

They’ll just say they’re against it, that they’re morally outraged, and will offer ‘thoughts and prayers’. Nothing more.

They voted for this. So I don’t have any sympathy for them saying Trump doesn’t represent them. He does. They go on and on about how they’re the greatest country in the world, and how their government is ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’. They’re more responsible for the actions of their government than any other nation is for theirs.

And the American mentality is that their pride will never let them admit if they’re wrong. So even though they may know that talks of annexation and taking away our country are beyond offensive, they can’t say it. They have to say that it’s for some greater good that no one else can see, even if they know it’s BS. But the problem is, short of NATO putting troops in our country to help fight off an invasion, I don’t know what would stop the US from just trying to take whatever they want in the name of ‘freedom’. And the funny thing is, on the Cato Human Freedom Index, which measures a person’s person, economic and civil freedom, we rank higher than the US. We’re #11, and the US, the leader of the free world, is #17. So how are they the ‘freest nation’ in the world? Why would we downgrade ourselves by joining them? We wouldn’t. No one would. Unless it was by force.

I’ve said this before, and I meant it then; the mentality of the US is that they’re basically a r***** telling their victim that if they lay down and let them (USA) have their way with them, they won’t get hurt. THAT’s the US right now. They’re our neighbours, but they’re NOT our friends. And they probably never were. They just finished hurting other nations, and decided to turn their attention to us.

What’s funny is, they keep calling themselves the ‘leader of the free world’, but in 2024, according to the Cato Human Freedom Index, which measures personal, civil, and economic freedoms, the US ranked 17th. Canada? 11th. And this was not taking into account Trump’s second term. Most of the countries in the top 10 were all European, the countries that the US likes to call ‘socialist welfare states’.

I would love if they actually did follow through and go with the Saab. I don’t know how difficult it would be to get out of the contract (probably impossible at this point), but I just feel we need to start relying on other countries for comparable products, including military hardware.

I didn’t know it was Charles De Gaulle who said that line, I remember the first time I heard that was from a Youtuber called ‘Beau of the Fifth Column’. I wasn’t aware he may have been quoting him.

Exactly. In fact, didn’t Trump once say he loved the uneducated? An informed electorate, one that’s capable of critical thinking, is the one thing every dictator would fear. Makes it harder for them to manipulate the masses. Which would explain why Trump wants to close down the Department of Education.

It’s funny, a few months back, it felt like nothing could have stopped PP from getting a super majority. But now, the majority’s in doubt, and in some polls, he’d actually be trailing Carney. Not by much, but it’s still significant to see how much things have changed. A lot of PP’s attack ads and popularity were based on Trudeau fatigue, but if PP puts out attack ads saying Carney is Trudeau 2.0, I’m not sure how effective they’ll be.

Yeah, I think a lot of MAGA, and other Republicans, don’t realize that the ‘radical left’ democrats, would be seen as right-wing by many other western nations’ standards. And the whole thing about them being the ‘leader of the free world’ is sickening and hilarious at the same time.

Canada is 11th in the Cato Human Freedom Index, while the US, the ‘freest nation in the world is 17th’. They have no business talking to us, or ANYONE ahead of them in that index, about being free. And most of the nations ahead of them in that freedom index, are from Europe, the ‘socialist nations’ as MAGA and others like to call them.

Good work. And I agree that the media is included, and it should be highlighted and made more public just how many news outlets are controlled by US companies. I honestly don’t think a lot of the general public are aware of how much control the US has over many of our new outlets. Maybe people might have suspected it before, but not cared, but I think they’d care more now, given the US’s recent actions, and share that with the people around them.

They’re just all over the place at this point. One moment they’re accusing the Canadian government of being totalitarian, then next moment they’re saying it’s been overtaken by cartels from Mexico. Like, ffs, make up your mind. And funny how they never like to talk about all the illegal guns they allow over their border into Canada. Guess that just screws up their narrative.

Honestly, I wasn’t comfortable going to the US ever since Trump got elected the first time. This is just another reason to never visit that place again. Would rather vacation somewhere in Canada, or if there’s a great travel deal, visit Europe.

Yeah, I have a Home Depot less than 5 min from me. But now I just go the extra distance to Canadian Tire for a lot of the supplies that I usually got from Home Depot. It’s not as convenient, takes longer, and some of those items may cost a little more, but that doesn’t matter to me anymore. I know some items will be American, and that there are no Canadian equivalents, but I’m just trying to avoid US-made products wherever I can.

Yeah, I don’t think they understand that, by and large, most Canadians won’t react to sensationalist attack ads the way Americans will. Well, Conservatives may eat it up, but outside of their base, a lot of people will be more bothered by the tone and brazenness of some of their messages, than by what they’re claiming about Carney.

I think the important thing for Carney and the Liberals, is to not get into too much mud slinging. They have every right to attack, but they should focus on PP’s refusal to get security clearance, and how someone like that can’t be trusted to lead them in these times. They should bring up how PP wants to be more closely aligned with the USA, while the Liberals want to diversify their trade and relations, so that they’re not as dependant on any one country. It’s a simple strategy of not putting all of one’s eggs in one basket. I think that’s something a lot of Canadians would understand and support.

They should also bring up PP’s record on how few bills (if any) he passed, and point out that PP, for all his talk, is a career politician, and that his economic record doesn’t compare to Carney’s. There was also a rumour that PP would pick Andrew Sheer as his Finance Minister. Andrew Sheer, the person who had dual citizenship (Canadian and US). It’s fair to bring that up, considering the state of affairs between Canada and the USA.

Sounds good. But until he does anything, it’s just bluster and tough talk. It needs to happen. And it has to go on for a few days, with Americans REALIZING why Canada’s taken that action. They have to realize why more and more people, more and more countries, hate them. But it’s not enough for them to know that, they have to have their own lives disrupted. And realize that it’s their own government’s fault that all of this is happening.

Good. The US should be given the cold shoulder, or not be given the same access and information they had before. They can’t be trusted. Does anyone really think he wouldn’t share any information he’s given with his Russian handlers? Right now, they’re a threat to the other four members’ national security.
