  • I told you bro. I fuckin’ warned you.

People have called me “paranoid” for years for pointing out that this kind of thing was going to happen, and it’s so much worse than I thought it would be but at least I’m vindicated.

Tech companies will literally murder or enslave you if they think it would be good for their bottom line. We know that’s true because tech companies are murdering and enslaving people in the global south because it’s good for their bottom line. Stop giving them money. Stop buying wifi-enabled garbage that spies on you for the police state.

Maybe it’s a good thing that people with entirely too much money are being forced to rock their own crying child instead of having a machine do it. Using robots to soothe your child is a Phillip K. Dick-esque dystopia. Obviously a crying child take a huge mental and physical health toll on everyone in a house, but in a country where poor people are being forced to give birth, maybe the rich people should have to suffer a little bit too.

  • Anarchism is not anti-government. Anarchism is anti-hierarchy. Government is very possible without hierarchy, which is why most anarchists see direct democracy on the level of individual communities as the only valid system of government. One of the most popular forms of anarchism right now is anarcho-communism. One of the core ideas of anarcho-communism is that people need to band together as a free-association of producers society commune. It’s based on the ideas put forth by Kropotkin in The Conquest of Bread where his opening argument for anarchism is that everything that has ever been built has only been possible because of people cooperating and building off of each other.

It can sound a bit ridiculous at first because a lot of people spend their whole lives hearing nothing but anti-anarchist propaganda created by states that are inherently threatened by anarchism. If you’ve been told your whole life that anarchists are just weird people who hate the government then you’re probably going to end up believing it. Most anarchists I’ve met have held a negative view of anarchism at some point in their life because of it!

You should dig around the wikipedia page for anarchism a little bit. It might not convince you, but it does a decent job of presenting anarchist ideas as anarchists would describe them and you might get an idea of what anarchists are actually fighting for.

  • A big issue with things like PFAs is that they bioaccumulate. They build up faster than the body can metabolize them. This increases the likelihood of toxicity because the level in your body just keeps building.

There’s also biomagnification, which is where a substance (in this case PFAs) grow more concentrated in organisms higher in the food chain. It’s in everything. It’s in the things we eat, and it’s in the things they eat, and it’s in the things those things eat, all the way down.

It doesn’t matter if things aren’t toxic now, because they will be given enough time.

  • I’m asking for a source specifically on how commanding an LLM to not hallucinate makes it provide better output.

Again, I’m not sure what kind of source you’d like to see for this, as it’s a basic consequence of how LLMs work. Maybe you could show me a source that proves you correct instead?

That’s not how citations work. You are making the extraordinary claim that somehow, LLMs respond better to “do not hallucinate”. I simply don’t believe you and there is no evidence that you’re correct, aside from you saying that maybe the entirety of reddit had “do not hallucinate” prepended when OpenAI scraped it.
