PeerTube isn’t going to be a drop-in replacement for Youtube, but it can provide a back-up or alternate source for a channel that might break some guidelines or risk mass reports. I like using it through NewPipe/PipePipe to blend with other sources. You can make a playlist with Youtube, Soundcloud, Peertube, Bandcamp, and BilliBilli, and aside from buffering the experience is seamless
21·4 months agoUse Linux & the Android app Rethink while it’s still being funded by Mozilla (you never know). Easily configure your devices to split apps among different VPNs. If you know how to look around you can find public proxies. 😉 I would really not recommend trusting Proton, but I know Mullvad (also untrustworthy & visibly confined to west-friendly datacenters) makes it super easy by snagging all the files from the website, Proton might have something similar

163·4 months agoFYI the last easy setup way to fix Youtube is Invidious or Pipepipe (Android app) with one of the main VPNs providing service through Thailand, there may be other regions. I won’t explain the cooler options because only I deserve them. I mostly use the fire and forget method of sending it to Seal (YTDL app). Anyways when they finally seal it off they will be doing us a favor
