Loved the movie personally. I kind of expected it to be worse than the first one, and there is a degree to which being a Wicked fan means being willing to suspend disbelief on some of the finer plot points of the second half, since you know they’re working around the plot of Wizard of Oz while simultaneously re-writing all the characters. But the acting completely sold it for me. Grande and Erivo really managed to capture the very complicated love/relationship between Elphaba and Glinda (particularly in re: Glinda’s whole comphet closeted thing). Honestly probably going to watch it again some time on a discount ticket day.
