Don’t care. I’m not installing another app. It’s a website, it should work in a browser.

Lemmy is an api. A website is just another app here. Besides, there are other web interfaces you could use. Have you tried any?

Is there a way to switch UI without switching the server. I do not like the web UI, I got used to old Reddit + RES.

Yes! I can’t speak to lemmy.world but reddthat (my instance) hosts several web UIs and you can use whatever one you want.

          https://old.reddthat.com/ would interest you.

          https://voyager.reddthat.com is another popular one.

There’s probably info available for your instance if you look for it (they should do a better job of advertising the different UIs).

BTW I respect your dedication to using browser apps for websites. I also try not to install an app if there is a decent mobile UI available on the website. I’ll will install an app if its a better experience though.

What kinds of problems have you ran into using Lemmy in a browser on the phone? I use Firefox and set it to “desktop mode” and haven’t had any issues.
