How long before these sickos declare prima nocta
I’ve only ever seen one side do this
Due to the way office buildings are configured, they’d need to be converted to some sort of communal living (think college dorms). It seems feasible in theory, but it would have a very limited audience and would be a difficult living situation for most people.
Converting to individual units would require extensive retrofits and renovations.
It just keeps getting worse, doesn’t it?
Well, nothing is going to convince you that Israel might (not necessarily is, but might) be committing genocide since you are just going to claim that experts from multiple nations and walks of life sre biased.
In other words, the court basically said the case can move forward. That’s it.
One could reasonably conclude that this means the case is inconclusive. The case hasn’t been dismissed, but it hasn’t rendered a verdict of guilty or acquittal either. The question is still open.
nd anybody writing about it does so because they have strong opinions about it.
You do appear to have already made up your mind on this matter. You have other comments authoritatively proclaiming that Israel is not guilty.
What kinds of problems have you ran into using Lemmy in a browser on the phone? I use Firefox and set it to “desktop mode” and haven’t had any issues.
Will be interesting to see the floodgates that open on November 6th.
My issue with technological progress is that at this point most of it seems like it is no longer of benefit to the average person. Rather it is more about ways for corporations and governments to control us or extract more (e.g. money, data) from us. Most consumer tech is trending towards enshittification.
The exception to this is medical advancements.
I always wonder how many people who think eating meat is murder, evil, etc. have actually watched animals die in the wild.
My issue pertains more to forcibly breeding animals into existence for the sole purpose of exploiting them, and also the often terrible conditions they are kept in. I consider hunting and fishing to be more ethical than industrial animal ag, so long as it is done in a responsible manner (yes, I know this is subjective).
Nature is brutal, but industrial animal ag has absolutely heinous abuses.
Given what has actually come out of this man’s mouth, it was definitely plausible.
Archie Bunker says: “Would it make you feel any better, little girl, if they was pushed out of windows?”
I’ve been driving AEB equipped cars for almost 10 years, on 2 different vehicles, and have never had a false brake event triggered. I have had multiple false warnings (without braking) on the older vehicle and no false warnings on the newer one.
I know anecdotes are not data though. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing something from NHTSA or IIHS on this to see how much of a problem it is.
Tesla uses only cameras because Musk is an idiot
Meanwhile, human driving skill seems to be getting worse over time

What a fitting name. Because he is quite gross
Less and less each day
and America funding it.
And absolutely gaslighting anyone who calls anyone out for it.
I’m really sick of the whole “criticism of Israel is antisemitism” rhetoric. NO IT ISN’T. And pushing this rhetoric harder isn’t going to make me support them either. If anything, I’m going to see it as an increasing threat to my First Amendment right to free speech.
My criticism of the Chinese government is not hateful towards the Chinese Americans in my community. It’s also not hateful towards the Chinese people living in China or anywhere else in the world. It’s a criticism of the leadership, which is fair game. Ditto for criticism of Iran, Russia, or any other nation I can think of.
But criticize the Israeli government and suddenly it’s a problem. There’s less pushback for criticizing the U.S. government!
No, but as I said plenty of experts and scholars are calling it one. I believe the ICJ said that it is “plausible,” which I taken to mean that it is inconclusive. Consider that this was many months ago before the more recent escalations.
For my own part, I’m neither an expert nor do I have enough reliable, unbiased information to make any sort of assertion on the topic. Reasonably, I can only defer to the experts and try to filter out sources that have a vested interested (in either direction). There are experts saying both yes and no, so it really comes down to who you trust.
Video games are probably thought of more as “tech” rather than “culture.” And obsolescence is a part of tech.
I don’t agree with it, but that is what I think their view on it is.
