FFS do they really have to write headlines that imply the exact opposite of what happened? At first read, I thought the woman had been made to pay £3k, not that she had gotten paid £3k.

I know “headlinese” is a thing and all, but is adding the word “got” really that inconvenient?

In case you didn’t figure it out, the headline is ambiguous between her giving or receiving the money. Reading “three more words” doesn’t change that.

I understood it just fine. “Got paid” sounds very informal. “Is paid” or “was paid” would be slightly clearer.

The opposite would be “fined” or “pays”.

Would you rather cum from a bunch of toys for $3K total or one $3K sex toy that should in theory be mind blowing?

Bruce contradicts himself a lot - elsewhere he says “a punch is just a punch. A kick is just a kick.” He also advises you to learn the form, and then forget the form.

Learning the form then forgetting the form is pretty normal in any discipline. First you learn how to do it, like how to punch, kick and block. Then you learn sequences and combinations. You learn these to perfection. When your body knows the moves you can start improvising and you need to forget the sequences and combinations in order to adapt.

Same goes for all art, applied science, most jobs, even social structures, economic models etc. First you learn the basics, then you learn the complex rules, when you master then you can break the rules and improve upon it.

I sort of get what he was going for, but it’s also very Confucian and kind of nonsense. I think in some of the films you see him doing little bits of Jeet Kun Do form during downtime. Muscle memory is still memory, Bruce!

I think it’s hilarious that this comment section is full of support for the woman AND laughter over her sex toys. Think about it.

Good. Seriously, I hope such actions will be met with complaints and lawsuits everywhere.

Sexual life is a very sensitive and intimate subject, and it’s bad enough that she even had policemen invade it by opening the box (though this in particular is obviously a necessary part of police operations), let alone make a laughing matter out of it.

In general, though, I hope we will be able to eventually get more open about such things, so that it would be seen as a regular set of household items, even if it’s hidden from plain sight.

Good on her. Fuck the cops. Too bad the police spend must of their budgets on lawsuits instead of, ya’know, vetting and training.
