I don’t think this is an epoch thing, I think they deliberately set it to the date that BASIC for 6502 was released.

I wonder when people decided to format emails that way.
The actual format (not the name) is at least some 30 years old, email is at least some 55 years old.
I wonder why they took the effort to adjust the time and commit. Just mention the date in README.md and move on.
