The officer apparently tried to tuck a gun into his pants instead of using a holster, failed, dropped the gun, and menaced bystanders in response to his own failure

    Go ahead. Shoot me.

I wonder, how many people regret saying it because they’ve been actually shot. Ah, yes. None. Good line.

I know it’s difficult to think clearly in the moment, but I wish he had used the phone to call the local police, at the very least. Report a kidnapping.

Apparently that’s a tactic, using soldiers - I’m sorry, “agents,” domestically you have to move them to a different location or they get soft.

The idea is that they’re not put in a position to play favorites or make enemies with their neighbors.

That dumb fat bastard looks pretty soft. Pointing his gun helps him compensate for being a fascist bitch.

Being a fascist bitch is probably not the only short coming that piggy is compensating for. Lost of useless shriveled up roid-roasted nuts in ICE.

Also fairly common with cops to not live inside of their own precinct. Because nobody wants to be the neighbor who hands out tickets. I know a cop who does stand up comedy, but she specifically avoids doing any comedy inside of her own jurisdiction. Because her interactions are her standup content, and there’s a non-zero chance that the person she’s telling a story about could be in (or have friends in) the audience.

The bullets fell out of his gun, too, and he didn’t notice them on the ground the whole time he was walking around even when he stepped on them. And I don’t think he put one in the chamber before the whole debacle got underway. If shit had gone sideways and he’d pulled the trigger, nothing would have happened, I think.

I thought maybe one of the spare magazines fell out of his vest, but it looks like he has 3 before and 3 after. I think he was unarmed that whole time.

Even worse: When that gun was tucked in his belt like this, it doesn’t take much for the trigger to be accidentally pulled by a crease of his clothing or gear he’s carrying, resulting in him shooting himself in the pelvis. Also, had the suspect actually been violent there would have been a risk of him grabbing it. It was right there within easy reach.

The victim was very close to grabbing it after it fell out of the incompetent agent’s belt. I have to assume that’s what this quote is all about.

In a genuinely shocking development, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement Friday which said “The officer’s conduct in this video is unacceptable and beneath the men and women of ICE. Our ICE law enforcement are held to the highest professional standards and this officer is being relieved of current duties as we conduct a full investigation.”

You can see the magazine in his hand and if you look at the right moment the pistol has no magazine in it.

Agreed, but still not likely. Whatever the case is, this person has no clue how to handle firearms safely in any way shape, or form.

Most modern pistols won’t fire if the magazine is ejected. Although not something one wants to figure out in the heat of the moment.

Definitely. I do think though that in his imagined scenario where there was a threat of serious bodily harm from the crowd, that “BANG click click click click” event would have been about the worst possible thing that could have happened.

I mean the whole thing was imaginary. No one in the crowd was planning to do anything other than yell at him, and he pulled the gun out just from fear. I’m just kind of highlighting an additional angle of his lack of any competency. It was only the fact that no one was trying to hurt him that kept him safe, he pretty much did everything possible to put himself in additional danger.

Edit: Oh, directing random cars to drive around a few feet away from this volatile situation was just another element of incredibly dangerous stupidity. I feel like probably he just did it because he wanted to reestablish some kind of control, to give some instructions to somebody since none of the ones he was giving were being followed and that wasn’t how he thought it was supposed to happen because he’s Billy Badass and he’s supposed to be in charge.

He also jams his gun into his pants and then immediately shoves the hand of the guy they’re restraining into the same spot.

I’m no gun expert, but that seems like a bad idea.

I made a tool to help with this. It sends encrypted Signal alerts when ICE shows up in your area based on community reports. Honestly been struggling to get the word out because everyone thinks it’s spam, but it’s legit and people are using it. iceheadsup.com Please check it out or share with someone it could help.
